Anyone interested in watching this? I am, but I'm a boxing fan and a former boxer who's always made the argument an MMA fighter stands ZERO chance in a boxing match with a top flight boxer. If Conor lands 10 punches the entire fight I'll be surprised. I respect MMA fighters for what they are but they're outclassed in a boxing ring.

As a boxing fan this is terrible for the sport. It's nothing but a gimmick for Floyd to get paid. With that said I think a ton of boxing fans will form out the cash to watch myself included.
Floyd will do what he does and play defense all night and jab Conor to death.

I think Floyd will be told to make it last a certain number of rounds. I don't know how McGregor will keep himself from trying to resort to MMA which basically none of that would be allowed in a sanctioned boxing match.

I wonder about that, too. And it isn't so much "resort to" as it is instinct.

A boxer who admittedly is still good but past his prime, from a sport that almost nobody can name any of its top fighters, fighting a guy who isn't allowed to do what makes him most lethal. If you pay any money to watch this fight you're a sucker.

The opposite would be true if Mayweather stepped into an octagon. Mcgregor would take him down and grind him into a bloody mess within 3 minutes.

These are two completely different sports. It's like thinking Pat Day could jump into a stock car and best Jimmie Johnson because Day is a great racer.
