I honestly think after seeing the CUSA thus far that winning it would not be far fetched this year. I think we’re playing with confidence and (never thought I’d say this) actually showing some signs of playing defense. I think the lost to W&M was embarrassing enough for a wake up call. I like the progress. Just IMO

I don’t think the loss to W&M was embarrassing. They’re a top 100 RPI team. The Morehead St. loss is the one that stings. They stink.

That said, I agree we have the potential to win the conference. MTSU is the favorite but after them I’d put us in a group with WKU, ODU and maybe UAB. I think La Tech without Jalen Harris takes a step back (guess we will find out shortly).

Rondale Watson has made a huge difference on defense. His athleticism was badly needed as well.

I don’t think it’s necessarily The Who we lost to versus the how. Or maybe in this case both. We scored 104 points and lost by double digits. That’s a disgusting lack of defense. And while WM isn’t as bad of a loss as MST, surrendering 114 points to them is a complete embarrassment.

Fair.

Not trying to defend our effort on defense (sorry for the pun) because it wasn’t good, but W&M shot 18/28 from three against us. One of their players went 10/12 all by himself. Odd nights like that happen in basketball every once in while.
