I swear these ESPN announcers are going to spend the entire game making excuses for Illinois and blaming the officiating. It is beyond nauseating at this point.

I understand having a C-USA bias and wanting them romain, but come on.

Have you not seen some very awful missed calls that have hurt Illinois. One should have given Illinois a first down in tech's territory. Instead, that play resulted in a tech TD. That is anywhere from a 7-14 point swing.

Besides the last 30 seconds of the half, the penalty count was 8-0. Fine if it worked out like that with a well-called game, but some of these missed calls are mind-boggling.

That hold occurred about the same time as the interception 5 yards away. The receiver had no play on that ball. I thought it was a good "no call"

Agree Rifle. The no flag for defensive pass interference which La Tech picked off and returned was at very least a 10pt swing. Illinois has had a few that were certainly questionable not go there way.

If people don't like the announcing just turn down the sound and watch the game and read the graphics. Be more enjoyable and takes out the "so-called" announcer bias and the listener at home bias

The only guaranteed swing I think was 7 points LaTech scored. Nothing has been guaranteed with Illinois offense stalling and their kicker hasn't looked great. It was a bad no call though.

defensive holding does not require the ball to be catchable. Not does it require the ball to be thrown at that receiver. It was clearly a missed call.

It was a hold but you also can't ignore that the Illinois lineman were ripping the jerseys off the LT pass rushers the entire first half. As such I thought it was a good no call in the pass play. Officials could have called holding every single down. It was awful.

Illinois better hold a holding technique class, LaTech had a party at the QB on every play it seemed. Illinois was awful, but O'Toole's toughness was impressive, that kid took a beating.

SMU is looking pretty good in this game.

You guys need to stop being such pussies about commentators. They don't actually affect the outcomes of the games, you realiza that, right?

Calls even out over the game. Badly missed holding by Ill earlier that could have resulted in a LT td.

I thought the the same thing. Must have had a special on those to close out the season.

I was thinking old school Patriots. I like the look.

I immediately thought Patriots.
I was waiting for Steve Grogan, Harold Jackson, Russ Francis, and Stanley Morgan to take the field on offense.
