Doc and Huff Both

As crappy as Doc was as a head coach he did beat this App State team last year when they were ranked. Huff finds a way to lose. Im just not impressed with Huff so far. Its as if he learned absolutely nothing from his blunder last week against ECU. Hey I have an idea for a gameplan for next weeks game against Middle Tennessee. Why dont we run a very high tempo offense so we will have a shorter time of possession and lets keep our defense out on the field most of game even though they have big issues. Does that sound like a good idea? I think we should try it again.

Something strange? Who gives a damn about names and team names? My goodness, just admit, you've jumped off the bandwagon for Huff.
Once again you're putting words in my mouth. You love telling everyone what they think. I've not jumped off of anyone's bandwagon.

But like I said carry on being a keyboard tough guy superfan.

Huff is 4 games in taking over for a coach who lost the program last year and Doc had exactly one conference title in 11 years. Not sure how Huff will turn out yet as it is 4 games in. I thought we would be 2 and 2, I just had us losing to Navy and splitting with ECU and App. It is not like Doc was a world beater. he was mired in mediocrity and lost the program last year. Doc had plenty of shit the bed moments.

No Doc had plenty of boneheaded moments. My point is Huff has already had two. Huff needs to clean up his coaching.

Who cares?! Doc is gone! And just because the coach we let go performed below expectations doesnt give the current coach a pass to do the same. He really didn't learn from last week..5 days ago when our D was gassed in the 4th. And our D was out of position multiple times tonight waiting on a freaking call from the sidelines yet we didn't dare call a dang time out in the first half to get our act together!! Horrible coaching again. From the head coach to the coordinators. Totally frustrating.

Unlike you toots, I haven't quit on this team.
So by all means go tell everyone why Huff, who is actually coaching MU and you aren't in any capacity, why he's so terrible.
Talk about a keyboard warrior...

Lol. No one has quit on the team. Get over yourself.

Deep down you must not like Huff because you read into my post. It was not meant as a slam to Huff.

And since you want to go there. Doc beat this team last year. So there's that.

Carry on white knight.

Up tempo is not bad....if you are scoring touchdowns instead of field goals. 3 tds and 3 fgs apparently isn't enough if you miss the 4th fg.

touchdowns every series just isn’t a justified expectation. Points are points. FGs are points needed. The problem arises when your Dfense can’t consistently produce some 3 and outs. Which was a major factor tonight.

Yeah, he did, strange.

I’m thinking some of this falls on our S&C Coach. When the 4th quarter rolls around, the tank is empty. These are the players that Doc recruited that Huff has to work with. If the offense is going to play at that tempo, save ALL of those timeouts for the defensive side of the ball in the 4th quarter. We are one of the top G5 programs in the country if it’s a 3 quarter game.

What does that even mean?

Even a casual observer understands that this D is out of gas by the 4th quarter. Certainly the coach does as well. Yelling “all is well” over and over does not make it so.
Keep trying Sammy.

Huff stated his defense is conditioned for this style of play last night. Is he lying?

How?
Wells didn't throw a pick. He also didn't force nearly as many passes into coverage. He also had multiple WR's and spread his targets out.
Marshall caused, what, 3 turnovers?
Marshall scored as much as they could when they had the ball. 3 pts or 7 pts, they kept doing so.
Special teams, missed a kick. Congrats on recognizing this happens literally everywhere (ask Minnesota Vikings fans or FSU fans about field goal kickers...hell, ask Ray Finkle).

This is, of course, just 5 days after people were questioning the offense and our QB's ability to not throw picks and for the offense to not stumble.
The defense remains to actually be, the only real issue here...Huff literally cleared up much of the criticism of this team in less than a week.

So you misuse a quote in order to change the context of what was being discussed??
Keep trying Sammy
Oh, the “I was taken out of context” line.

Doc is gone. We are discussing THIS season and THIS coach. 1-2 in I-A, 0-2 vs I-A that are likely to win a game this year.

The previous coach could have been Bear Bryant or Jerry Faust. Irrelevant.

Try to live in the present, OK?

Youre a moron. I simply stated Huff wasn’t providing coach speak. That was the last guy. I was speaking to the present. Catch up

You're suggesting he's lying.

BS. This coach calls things as he sees them. You're confusing Huff with the last guy.

Admitting your dfense got tired isn't throwing anyone under the bus if it were so.
So the defense was fresh and in as good or better condition as App’s offense in that 4th quarter? As ECU’s offense in that 4th quarter? They honestly didn’t look like they were worn out to you???

They looked mentally beat more than physically. To your point. Apps offense didn’t look tired. Mental breakdowns and focus put us completely out of position to make plays.
This is likely the best physically conditioned team we’ve seen here in a very long time.

But, short of a Snyder level of ineptitude, much too little to determine anything.
Stay in the present Sammy. Snyder is two coaches ago…right?
