I mentioned it in another thread, but is anyone else following all the American deaths there? Several deaths have taken place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and several more at the Bahia Principe. Both are all inclusive and many of the deaths are reported after drinks from the room mini bar. Dominican officials are saying all the deaths are of natural causes. The FBI is now investigating. There are six deaths in all. I really don’t know if the volume of American tourists places these deaths within the range expected out of the general population or not, but at least from the media coverage it sounds suspicious.

I heard another story of a couple turning down an offer on a time share. When they returned to their room (from the sales pitch), they noticed a very foul smell, felt ill and complained to resort staff. Resort staff refused to take action and the couple went ahead and checked out and flew back to the states. Immediately upon return to the states, they received medical attention and the lab work showed they were poisoned with insecticide.
