Any news on his possible recruitment....he is 6-2ish, 210 lbs and runs real well. WVU backed off due to grades....has Marshall reached out since the need for linebackers....Martinsburg played Sherando and Grantham is better then the kid from there. I think he will be a partial qualifier.

He's going JUCO. WVU is placing him at Lackawanna last I heard.

Maybe but we've signed five LBs in the 2019 class already. If we take a NQ at LB it will be Ah'Shawn Moore, who is a much better prospect than Grantham.
when healthy Grantham is real good and an instate product...played tailback in high school...might be able to play safety

Definitely don't need another RB in this class.

And the in-state thing means nothing. In the 2019 cycle alone we've signed three WV kids to scholarships and got PWO commitments from an additional three.

oh he is not a running back at the next level just saying that's what he played...Martinsburg beat a Top 5 5A school in PA this year and Grantham was a stud in that game. Commited to WVU early so everyone backed off....better then the kid going to Sherando...just think he has lots of potential

btw...its funny...in-state means nothing to football but means everything in hoops

You missed my point. Grantham being an in-state kid doesn't move the needle because we've already gone heavy on in-state kids in the 2019 class.
and my point is if the kid can play it should not matter...and he can flat out play...commited to wvu early then got hurt and a partial qualifier

But it does matter to you. You've made it clear - over and over again - that we should recruit more WV kids simply because they're from WV. Especially ones from the eastern panhandle. You're completely biased when it comes to kids from Martinsburg and unable to partake in an objective conversation about them. Grantham is just the latest example. Before him it was Tyson Bagent. Before him it was Jalen Hesen.

There's no room in Marshall's class for Grantham. He made it clear early on he was a WVU lean and even when they dropped him, his camp let it be known he was going to LCC in order to get back to WVU in a few years. That's fine. His life and his prerogative.

But now he wants to play the victim and come crawling back to a place he's always thumbed his nose at because Neal Brown isn't interested? Too bad. Go play at Shepherd.

and Im saying I don't think LCC is in the cards now...this kid is totally different then Bagent...this kid is 6-1, 210 and runs a 4.5 or 4.6 forty and has D1 offers...I think Brown does have an interest...but maybe he would rather not go juco...Doc did extend two PWO to EP kids this year...one is in school at Marshall (started this month) and the other im not sure about yet

This is easier to me than most, I guess. If the kid wants to play at MU, it's now up to him to seek it out. Certainly, if he hasn't burned any bridges with the coaches, they'd listen. If he really wants to be here, how about other venues like gray-shirting instead of JUCO. If he makes the grades he could come on later. Don't know, can gray shirts also be PWOs or Walk Ons?

Pretty sure he has a public email address, pique his interest in the title statement and I bet he'll read it, or have an assistant do so. But how does one do this without infringing on the recruiting rules; maybe address it to the recruiting coordinator instead.

I'm sure when he's working on the pipeline in 2 years, you'll come again telling us how the next guy "is different and has lots of potential!!"
Forget the panhandle...I'd rather go to the Metro area for athletes.

then forget the panhandle when MU wants to recruit students to grow the student body?

Why should this be on the shoulder's of Marshall just because he lives in WV? There is a reason we head south for skill position players. What few ends up coming out of WV, ends up at WVU and then hardly sees the field. So his WVU dream didn't pan out and now since Marshall is the only other D1 school in the state, we should slobber at the chance to take him? I guarantee you the coaches has seen what he offers and they decided to go south instead. No thank you, we want players who choose us, and the ones we get to commit are much more than the average top of the line WV player. He can always pimp himself out to FCS schools in Ohio or MD or VA.......

Amir Richardson, former WVU commit, says hello.

What's your point? Hello back? He chose us once WVU backed off, we had a need, it was early signing period, coaches liked what they saw. Amir is not the norm. No one should pretend that WV is loaded with championship caliber athletes, population demographics at its best.

before the grades were an issue Grantham was invited to Notre Dame for an unofficial visit and he went. Stood on the sidelines for a game at ND....

Just because Notre Dame & WVU would show interest in Grantham, you can't assume that Doc should.

We have two excellent safeties in the class as well that played against tough FL competition. From what has been said, Grantham said "thanks but no thanks" to an offer from us because he is WVU all the way. He's a solid recruit, but we have had a great recruiting class at the potential positions he could play.

That's opinion in regards to Doleman and Grantham. Doleman is a very good fit for our defense and a guy we had been recruiting for a long time.

Yep. We offered more in-state recruits than I can ever remember. If some of the local recruits hadn't blown up nationally the way they did then it could have been more in-state commits.

You cant teach 4.5 speed from a linebacker spot...when healthy Grantham jumps out on the field...at this point one really has to assume Doc is not on good terms with the Martinsburg coaching staff(which is what everyone here is assuming).

Or, off to Morganhole

Anyone have an idea on what the Herd and Doc expect to land on Wednesday? Number of signees? Any jucos? etc.
