I would lay the points. WKU has everything to play for. We have stopped listening to the coaches. Bad weather, no crowd, no vibe, team will go through the motions.
Probably safe to say this is worse than any Snyder team/season. Compounding this troubling thought is the fact the league we currently play in is also far worse than the MAC-Snyder years IMO.

I think Doc may be the worst game day and adjustments coach that I can remember for Marshall.
Doc needs help OR be replaced. Legg, Heater, Mirabel need to find employment elsewhere or MH simply needs to fire the entire staff. If and when we do get a new HC I hope he come from an established winning program and has the fire within to want to succeed. Doc seems to have lost his enthusiasm to coach.
In.... before someone claims "no one would want to coach Marshall" or "we cant afford anyone with a real coaching mind/ability"

One thing, or make that 3, perfectly clear from this chart. First, we played a lot stronger schedule, more formidable opponents, during Snyder's 3-9 season; Second, we had better home attendance throughout that disastrous season than in 2016. 31,000 for Rice? Man, the way the Herd and Owls are playing this season, we wouldn't get half of that!! Third, just as important, and sad to say, our Television coverage in 2007 was far, far better than our current TV package/exposure. Another glaring example of how CUSA has continued to deteriorate into mediocrity over the decade since 2007!!!!!
Don't you just love that? I think it's a preemptive excuse designed by the Super Fans to further accept mediocrity from whoever the replacement coach would be.

If it happens to work once. Count your blessings, you probably got lucky. Continuing to go to the same well will eventually run dry.
I am one who believes that positive growth or change has to come from the outside. This was the strategy that Built the foundation for the 90s success. The wheel doesn't have to be reinvented. Marshall drew the blueprint for creating a nationally known program from nothing. Someone just needs dust it off and get to work.

Small fan base, most of which will bitch if a game is set for 1:30 and they have bowling league that lasts until 2. League made up of random teams with really nothing in common, spread out over three time zones. Understand, that you MUST win 95% of the games you play, every year, with no exceptions, or you will be fired.

There's only a $70K difference between Doc's pay vs coaches who rank numbers 2-5 in the conference and only a $50K difference would place Doc in the top 3 for pay in C-USA, so stop pretending we are so disparaged.
There's probably a dozen or more I-AA coaches chomping at the bit for the head coaching position here. They don't care where it is. They want the chance to prove their worth and then, in time, they move on. You don't want a head coach nobody is stealing from you.
Consistently win games, important games against teams with a pulse, and the fans will come.
And by the way, Coach Klieman from the I-AA super power North Dakota State just got a boost to bring his salary up to $300K/yr. I think he would gladly accept a job that was $765K plus an additional $145K in bonus if he wins the conference.

I guess in his eyes, Htgn was a thriving metropolis, and Marshall was rolling in $$$ in the late 80's and 90's while playing in highest tier in college football.

800K here is like 1Mil or more in most places. You get an up and coming FCS coach who makes 350K and he almost triples his salary. That's an easy sell.
Ask my friends in CT about cost of living. They pay 5 figures in property taxes. Ouch!

It's obvious you are ignoring logic. You fire back with more lunacy. Why? Nobody is saying we can hire top coaches at big programs.

We managed to maintain with a good run football because we had better athletes and coaches than our opponents at the time. KO almost ruined our AD.
