Yeah, it's not so much A.J. but that pencil neck prick working with him.
I get the impression AJ kinda likes this Herd team, especially some of the guys on D.
Never mentioned (or I didn't hear it) that we were playing without two starting receivers, Thompson and Johnson.
They talked about Thompson and Johnson at the start of the game.
I didn't mind the announcers. I thought they actually talked positive about the Herd (especially compared to other channels and past years)
They were very complimentary the last time they had us as well.
Hawk does a good job as an analyst
I agree. As someone said earlier, I think he has a soft spot for MU's defense.
Chris Hassel was the play by play guy. He started his career as a sports guy at the NBC affiliate in Des Moines. Super talented. Went right to ESPN from Des Moines. But later axed when ESPN started cutting people. You can see him on CBS Sports Network now.
The NBC station in Des Moines has a show on Sunday nights after the late local news called Sound Off, where they do sports news and bits, and call ins. When Hassel was there, he had all sorts of funny bits. One was as Cooter Ray Cornholler, which made fun of Nebraska and Nebraska football fans. Here is a bit that had nothing to do with sports. The supposed making of a famous local jingle here in Iowa. Hassel is the guy in the pink. You obviously can get away with a bit more at 10:30 PM on the local stations.

I just rewatched the game. I don't know where you get they were one sided. The one time they pumped FAU it sounded more like he was talking about us, but slipped up and said FAU.
This is the 3rd game of ours that they've called this year and I have always felt they not only respect us, but enjoy calling our games. Especially AJ Hawk.

I totally agree with you. They simply gave kudos to FAU as they should have. A team coming in as a 19 point dog with 55 players dressed and they did a heck of a job
I haven’t researched the game but the two doing it have always been fans of Marshall. I have messaged with Hassell many times. He enjoys covering Marshall. It is the same way with the ones that cover basketball for Stadium.
You can tell AJ Hawk just loves football. He's done a lot of our games over the last couple seasons and has always been good. I remember him getting upset about a bum call we got. It was some new rule and he went on a rant.
I hope he climbs the announcing ladder because he's a good listen. I've always like him even back to when he played at Ohio State and Green Bay.
