Electric vehicle question

My point is when comparing BEV to H2, it’s going to take about twice as much energy to make the H2 as it does to charge a BEV.

And my point is some people don't care about that efficiency, that is why they drive SUVs and trucks that get 15 mpg. These same people might like the convenience and time-savings of a liquid fuel like hydrogen instead of the stored (and diminishing) energy of a BEV. But proselytizing BEVs is a religion for some on the left...

Hmmm... For the dangdest reason this image popped into my mind...

Individuals may not care but if we’re talking about public policy and where to put funding I think it makes sense to put more of that in the technology that’s going to require half as much electricity.

Not all of it. H2 has its place. But BEV is the technology we are much closer to being able to pull off.

Holy crap - the range of the Ford Lightning in cold (not even freezing) weather is surprisingly bad & that’s without towing anything. Can’t imagine if you had to tow something in the cold

BEV aren’t really ready to be towing anything.
You ain't kiddin' - but if they're gonna market it as a work truck, especially at the current sticker, & it was this limited, it would seriously make me rethink buying an EV for quite a while.

Apparently the new Hummer EV's blow the Lightning out of the water. Yes, they're two different types of vehicles but at this very early stage, they feel more like status purchases than anything else. Plus, since the H2 is over 6k lbs...https://www.gmc.com/tax-deductions

I can afford the vehicle, but since I live around 30 miles from the nearest charging station, I’m not sure I can spring for the extension cord.
