Did they hire agents?1 NCAA Tourney and these guys have all lost their damn minds. I hope it works out for them.
the thing is basketball and football are different. In BB if you dont hire an agent you can come back, if FB you are done. I would love for these guys to stay, but if someone puts a first round grade on them, what would you do?1 NCAA Tourney and these guys have all lost their damn minds. I hope it works out for them.

It’s also good exposure for our program.
And here we are, 2 weeks after our season ended, spring football is about to begin, and we’ve got daily posts about basketball. When’s the last time that’s happened? That’s not to create a b-ball v. f-ball type of thing. It’s just good to have something to generate conversation on the board and keep interests in the programs up.
Our b-ball program has been so stagnant that it’s been a sport people somewhat follow after the bowl game and maybe get excited around conference tournament time or if Memphis/Donnie Jones was playing in Huntington. That’s it.
I can give it to themThis is exactly what they need to do. All three need to get a handle on their NBA status.
Danny encouraged them to do so. He said it really helped in Jon's progression this year. He hopes that all 3 grow from the experience this summer.1 NCAA Tourney and these guys have all lost their damn minds. I hope it works out for them.
They have to pull out of the process by June 11. Well before the draft. All three of those players worked hard to put the Marshall basketball program on the map this year. I think they deserve to do whatever they want, but if they don't get picked up in the draft, I sure hope they all come back to play for the Herd again.
Wait...so if they don't pull out of the process and aren't drafted, do they completely forgo their ability to play college hoops again? They have to pull out of the process by June 11. Well before the draft.
How does it work, though? Surely not every eligible underclassman can declare for the draft and get a free NBA evaluation. If so, every Johnny Benchwarmer would apply. Doesn't at least one NBA team have to show some interest? There must be some criteria that must be satisfied; NBA scouts aren't going to waste their time on kids that have absolutely no shot. The NBA setup allows for this type of testing the water. Honestly, I don't know why more players don't declare without hiring an agent, go through the scouting process and then return to school like Elmore did last year. If you want to be an NBA player, who better to tell you what to improve than NBA scouts?

I never said they were. I am asking about players in general, not about MU players.Possibly.
But two guys who averaged 20pts/game and a third who lead the nation in blocks and was CUSA Defensive POY aren’t “Johnny Benchwarmers”
Not sure how it works, but wouldn’t be surprised if former Dan D’Antoni NBA connections and current Mike D’Antoni NBA connections play a large part in MU using this where other schools haven’t/can’t.I never said they were. I am asking about players in general, not about MU players.
Yes, or ask for a waiver from the NCAA. WKU had a similar case this year. One JUCO kid they signed decided to test the water. He didn't realize there was proper paperwork to fill out to exit the process. He didn't file and the NCAA ruled him ineligible. WKU appealed and finally in mid January they allowed him to play. He missed the entire first semester and nearly a month of the second.Wait...so if they don't pull out of the process and aren't drafted, do they completely forgo their ability to play college hoops again?
