As Huff would say: (high pitch) BUT! Having seen his mobility, perhaps Wolfie would place him in the slot or wide out…..No way in hell he would play QB at LSU or NC State. He doesn’t have the arm talent or decision making skills for that level.
Agree. This guy is simply not a I-A level QB. He might land on the bench at the very bottom of the division, but he would be better suited in I-AA or D2, if he wants to play. If he really just wants an education, then he can carry the clipboard somewhere and should look for that.No way in hell he would play QB at LSU or NC State. He doesn’t have the arm talent or decision making skills for that level.
Schools like that can afford to pay for a seasoned, lower-tier quarterback with a decent record and multiple starts to act as a backup in case of injuries or other unforeseen circumstances. Kid has a weak arm, but he's not nearly as bad as he's been made out to be. With decent coaching and the right system (we have neither), he's smart and athletic and could do a fine job for a well-coached program school. Hell, they probably have a S&C guy that can actually help him increase and maximize his arm strength.
He would get broken in half in the SEC and his arm is too weak. You have no idea if he's even being considered for QB. He's an athlete. There's no denying that, but he's not the complete package as a starting QB, at least not at the moment.Awesome how some can claim he is not a division 1 qb. Even as he has proven he is here the past two years and has parlayed that production into not one but two P5 visits.

So they're curious and want to look at him. Let me know when he's starting games at LSU.Awesome how some can claim he is not a division 1 qb. Even as he has proven he is here the past two years and has parlayed that production into not one but two P5 visits.
Aaron you too can go visit a sec school. It doesn't mean you're going to sign on the dotted lineHe is not playing another position. What would it be? And why would an SEC team consider a qb to play a different position when they can get the best of the best that already play it.
Maybe. Just maybe. You anti Fancher guys were wrong…….. again!!!!
Or we've watched is games. He is not playing another position. What would it be? And why would an SEC team consider a qb to play a different position when they can get the best of the best that already play it.

Malik Cunningham in the NFL, same thing.Or we've watched is games.
Teams convert QBs all the time. Chip Kelly used to recruit extra QBs and move them to DB because he thought it gave them an edge on reading the QB.
Chuck Heater also discussed it because the QB is usually one of the better athletes on a team.
He's got talent. He hasn't been coached at the position, or very little, since he's been here. Best of luck to Cam.Fancher was good enough to lead Marshall to a 9-4 season, wins over Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, App State, JMU, and a bowl win. He was dared to almost single-handedly beat NC State, and he almost did by throwing for over 300 yards and accounting for four TDs.
Yet the morons on here say he’s not an FBS QB.
And my maybe you are wrong...AgainHe is not playing another position. What would it be? And why would an SEC team consider a qb to play a different position when they can get the best of the best that already play it.

I don't recall Fancher taking a single snap against Notre Dame.Fancher was good enough to lead Marshall to a 9-4 season, wins over Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, App State, JMU, and a bowl win. Fancher took multiple snaps that game.I don't recall Fancher taking a single snap against Notre Dame.
That was the Italian guy.
3 snaps for 12 yds rushingFancher took multiple snaps that game.
Carried the whole team on his back to get us the W.3 snaps for 12 yds rushing
Straw man.Carried the whole team on his back to get us the W.
Thank you for correcting me!3 snaps for 12 yds rushing
Maybe but he didn't lead us to victory over notre dame like you claimedFancher took multiple snaps that game.
Yes, he is an FBS QB. As a matter of fact he was the 78th most efficient one out of the 109 with enough snaps to make the rankings. Of the 23 QBs that had double digit interceptions he is only one of two that had a TD/INT ratio of 1:1 or worse.Fancher was good enough to lead Marshall to a 9-4 season, wins over Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, App State, JMU, and a bowl win. Heck if I rememberThank you for correcting me!
Did he make a first down or anything?
You keep using this same argument, and for some reason, everybody has ignored what you're missing.Yes, he is an FBS QB. Nice guy, good athlete, but he didn’t show anything that would indicate he would have any success against SEC defenses on a weekly basis. A single good game against NCST when they were basically conceding the pass if you could throw it before they sacked you doesn’t mean much. As a matter of fact, Cam threw for 300 yards 4 times. We lost all 4 of those games. The way to beat Marshall was to let him throw. Not a good thing when trying to support his ability and effectiveness.
Fancher had nothing to do with the Notre Dame win. He took a couple of snaps and was ineffective in those. I think you overstate his importance in most other wins...he had a part...a small part in most of these, though Ali and Laborn and defense were the difference makers. He had a good game against NC State. Nothing but love for Cam. Hope he finds success.Fancher was good enough to lead Marshall to a 9-4 season, wins over Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, App State, JMU, and a bowl win. Please tell me where you saw these immense improvements. You keep using this same argument, and for some reason, everybody has ignored what you're missing.
A QB is far more than just passing statistics. A QB gets an offense in the right play, assigns the right blocking scheme, manages the offense, and an obvious one, can be just as important with his legs than his arm. With the offensive line Marshall had, can you imagine a QB who couldn't use his legs to get out of trouble. Did you see what happened when Marshall had a QB who was less mobile?
Was Fancher a great QB this year? No. Did he make immense improvements from year one to year two? Yes. Was he a solid QB for a G5 program? Yes. Could Marshall win a lot of games with Fancher if they had a good defense? Yes.
Please tell me where you saw these immense improvements..
Overall we produced less offense, less points and, most importantly, less wins than last year. So I need help seeing that “immense” improvement.
So it’s ALL on coaching for failure to recruit and develop at those positions? Would that failure fall on the head coach?Sure.
He went from a pass efficiency number of 120 to 129. How big of a jump is that? If he makes the same strides next year, he would have the same rating as these QBs:
Austin Reed (WKU): 31 TDs, 11 INTs, 3340 yards
Drew Allar (PSU): 23 TDs, 1 INT, 2336 yards
As bad as so many of you claim him to be, if he makes the same improvement next year that he made this year, he would be on par with those QBs . . . think you all would like those numbers from a QB? Of course you would. So if he is as bad as you say, and if there is a big difference between where he is now and those two QBs above, it means he made a huge improvement from last year since the difference is the same.
Marshall had a far worse defense, a far worse offensive line, the same RBs but with less success from them, and worse WRs. And you claim that since Marshall had fewer wins knowing that, it means Fancher didn't improve? That makes little sense.
