You do understand the FBI's involvement is because these people held political office at the time the alleged offenses occurred, thereby making the alleged conduct potential public corruption and/or civil rights violations, right?
Which is wholly different from the Kavanaugh thing.
The FBI does, however, perform the background review for SCOTUS nominees, meaning they could look into the allegations for this purpose, but not for the purpose of bringing federal criminal charges. Any potential criminal charges would fall on State or local officials and law enforcement.

Lying to the FBI is a crime. The victim/accuser/female welcomes an investigation by the FBI. The accused, the POTUS and the witness do NOT want the FBI to investigate. Lying to the FBI is a crime.

All of this is immaterial. Your first reply to this thread used a case where the crime involved an actual federal statute. Your second reply of "evidence" also involved crimes involving federal statute. You obviously were and are going down the road of a criminal investigation. Your third reply involves possible corruption and blackmailing of a sitting public official...federal crimes.
Now you are seizing on the FBI doing what amounts to a background investigation. And had you bothered to read further than what you thought proved you right, you would have read:

You did, as it explained the FBI conducts a background check on all appointees. The FBI has already completed a background check on Kavanaugh. However, you could have mentioned background checks earlier, but you kept linking to criminal cases. It's obvious you are referring to a criminal investigation, which they cannot do in the case; otherwise you are saying the FBI should do something they already have done, which makes zero sense.

Fords lawyer sent a list of demands to judiciary committee. Those include Kavanaugh testifying first among other things. That should absolutely be a nonstarter
