Two in a row verses a 17-11 against an ambitious schedule WKU and then the PIG game. Every chance of losing out, although our fellow PIGs are equally awful. Might make it though to the real CUSA tournament.

I think if FIU wins tonight, we are locked up for last place. They would be two up with two to play, and have the tie breaker.

Last place in one of the worst leagues in the country, where only about a third of the teams even try.

I think Sun Belt Conference basketball may be worse. The current top team in the league, Texas State's top wins look like Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina. The incoming schools should be better than all the existing schools.

They're similar, but C-USA may be slightly stronger. I'm not sure if the teams coming in will all be better though. Maybe ODU in some years, but the other three certainly aren't, or at least not in their current stages. This new AD though, he's a winner, so there's something he can do quickly to fix the hoop woes in Huntington, WV.

SBC is a much better football league, which is really what it's all about. Baseball is strong as well, but really don't know how it compares against C-USA, which also has a few good programs.

After the last game this year DD needs to be fired and they can replace his wife on the BG as well. It's 2022 people being a good guy or person just doesn't cut it anymore. It's a job that pays

Dd sister,wife,friends idc people seem to reward being a friend instead of people doing there job. That's why nothing is getting done or improving at Marshall. Same people has been there for 20 or more years and yet the same people bitch about poor restrooms ,stuff needs painting or other little stuff like this. But the minute someone says fire them and or replace them it's always ( he is a great guy or I've known them for x amount of years) it's the same double talk you can't have it both ways. And if DD won't leave like many say then we ALL will see how runs the athletics office. And we ALL will see how MR Smith plans to run Marshall in under 4 weeks. Time will tell os hang on.

hinm - wow. Pretty short leash you have MR Smith (most would refer to him as President Smith, given his position) on!! Let’s see if I have this right: A son of Marshall, recently hired after a astonishing career building a multi- billion dollar company, a visionary who is going to take MU to previously unimaginable heights academically, hires a knock your socks off athletics director who has worked his tail off everywhere he’s been & has a “system” for fund raising and athletic achievement developed over 25 years of experience, is going to be judged, on March 14 as a success or failure for time immemorial based on whether or not he makes the new AD make HIS first act on day 1 the firing of the school’s basketball HC??

Yes because there have been alot of talk saying DD will not quit and will leave when DD wants too. So thats why I say MR Smith will be put to the test in his first 4 weeks. Nothing about Mr Smith not doing his job but this type of stuff can be a sign.

Smith and Spears are experienced in putting the right people in place to achieve success of the operation they are charged with managing. They will get the job done. Dan will probably retire on his own. He is such a likable guy and a decent coach. But at 74, he needs to retire and enjoy his senior years. MU needs a fresh start in its basketball program with a sharp, energetic young coach who knows how to compete in college basketball's current mode of competition.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Capel isn't considered if he's let go by Pitt. Spears comes from Pitt and who knows what kind of relationship they may have. If it's a good one, that could be his guy......
