First Responder Bowl canceled

I haven't figured out why they couldn't wait until later in the day to play the game. Or even play it as a night game. I can only presume that the schools didn't want to wait and try to play the game tomorrow.

As a fan, I know I wouldn't be too happy about either traveling from Boise or Boston only to watch half a quarter of play before being told 'sorry, we aren't going to play the game.' The bowl game should have to reimburse some travel costs for the fans.

Having more football to watch is good thing. Who cares if there are 38 or 39 bowl games? The system is rigged to where only 20 to 25 teams, the haves, will ever have a legitimate chance to win the national championship and teams like Marshall and Boise State will never get that chance. So why not have more bowl games for have nots?

Besides, there are bigger issues in our world to worry about then to complain about too many athletic contests.

ESPN had to move on to a 47 minute analysis of Lebron's shoe lace tying method. He tweeted that he was "the man" and some other guy was "not". Then it had to tell me what various HS dropouts thought of American's political scene.

Totally agree. Refunding the ticket price is pennies compared to the hundreds spent getting there, lodging, eating etc. chicken shits! What a terrible feeling as you trudge towards you car/shuttle/Uber....terrible decision!

They got a vacation out of it. The game was only ~3 hours of their time. Im sure they were excited to watch their team but just because the game was cancelled doesnt mean they wasted money on hotel or travel costs

Seriously? Vacation in downtown Dallas!

I wonder if it was The Rose, Fiesta, or Orange if they would have cancelled that within an hour as well?

Probably, Not!
The definition of vacation is an extended period of recreation especially away from home. What else would you call someone traveling from Boston to Dallas to spend a few days revolving around a bowl game? It certainly isn’t a business trip.

Ask them if it wasn't for the Bowl would they have went to Dallas at this Time of year? Probably not; vacation time gone, funds gone, Bowl gone.

I never said it was a desirable location to vacation nor did I say that they wouldn’t have gone to Dallas if not for the bowl game but to think that they would go to Dallas and not have anything else planned or anything else to do makes no sense. It’s not your typical vacation to the redneck riveria, myrtle beach, but it’s a vacation by defenition and there are lots of things to do in and around dallas
