It's a long article but it really doesn't break any new ground. Most of these predictions have been previously expressed elsewhere. It's just a compilation of guesses of how things might eventually play out.

The article is amateurish. It forgets many issues, most importantly that the schools are tied to their current leagues via "poison pill" grant of rights deals until the current TV deals all run out mid- to late next decade. Nothing of real importance will happen until then.

The leagues, and ESPN (et al) have 2 different goals. ESPN (et al) wants AAA NFL. 30 or so teams, playing one another in the "regular season" and interminable levels of "playoffs". The NCAA and its members like it kinda as it is now. They like selling tickets to games versus field fillers and cupcakes that will not win for big $$.

A lot will be determined by exactly what position ESPN et al are in in 15 or so years, due to coming changes in the provider TV industry.
