I actually said Zelensky spoke with Putin. I said they had a deal in 2022 to end/prevent this. Biden foreign policy and Nato told him to fight on. Zelensky bent the knee and millions of his citizens are dead. Yes, the blood is ultimately on Biden's and Zelensky's hands.

Of course I'm pointing the finger at Nato. This was foreign policy discussions over 10 years ago , when Nato began to debate their membership. The US led a coup to overthrow a president in Ukraine to insert someone who would buy into the "We want to be Nato" mantra.

Most Americans don't even remotely understand the history of Russia and Ukraine. It is long and complicated. Crimea was given to the Ukranian territory in 1955 as a reward for fighting hard in the German invasion of WW2. Ukraine and Russia have been intertwined for a thousand years.

The whole idea of joining NATO help start it. That was never going to happen. Jesus Christ. Taking the peace deal offered is. Without any sort of assurances guaranteed in writing you’re just giving Putin a year or two to assassinate you and put a Russia friendly puppet in place or to just invade again. Ukraine won’t be in a better position to fend off Russia in two years but Russia will be in a better position to invade them again.

Whether we should support it, or why we should support it, are different questions than what Ukraine should do. If Ukraine wants to continue to exist it needs to fight this fight now. If it’s unable to now it’ll be even more unable to in one, two years. If it has any route to holding out for getting assurances it’ll never be in a better position than now.
