"Many young Iranians are frustrated by limits on reformers, including President Hassan Rouhani, to push for greater social freedoms and political openness in a country where the ruling clerics still hold all the cards. Working-class Iranians and others, meanwhile, are increasingly unhappy with a stagnant economy despite the lifting of international sanctions under the nuclear accord with world powers."

I see this picture all the time and it reminds me what the country was like before the clerics and hardcore religious faction dragged their country back to the middle ages...

I would imagine protesting in Iran comes with a whole different set of dangers than it does on our country...especially protests for social change.

Protesters in Iran will get toppled by the evil regime.

I've not like Iranians dating back pre-hostage time back in the 70's. I started out in Engineering at WVT, and the damn class rooms were full of them. I could get beyond their stench, since I reeked of herb and booze myself, but it pissed me off that they were all about 80 to 100 IQ points smarter than the poor WV students from the hollers.

Iranian chicks are fvcking hot. Was at a party couple years back hosted by a young Iranian doctor and his wife. Some of the hottest chicks I have ever seen. Take them out of the oppression they live in amazing what is under the veils.

Internet and social media has been cut at least 21 people are dead. Things are going swimmingly. Hopefully this time the rest of the world just doesn't pussy foot around this Iranian uprising and change actually happens

I assume the Women's March crew is showing tons of support for the women of Iran, right?

This will be the next regime that we take down. They were named after 9-11 and we are on the third POTUS and that is why Fat Boy in N Korea is nervous. Because he was named.

Afghanistan-check
Iraq-check
Libya-check
Iran-going down
N Korea-up next

If you don't think we have the spooks in there stirring this kind of thing up then you are mistaken.

One thing we are good at is taking out governments. Regardless of who is POTUS and in charge.

We're good at taking them out...now putting them back together is another issue.

I don't know what to do in these situations, but all I know is that chick that took off her hijab and waved it around like flag has some serious ovaries. That should be the icon for feminism for eternity.

That's the last thing we should do in Iran, especially given our history of fvcking it up there.

2/3s of Iran's population is aged 25 or younger. That's where change is going to come from. The government can't shoot everyone.

What we need to do is drop about a thousand mobile satellite hot spots there so they can get on the Internet without their govt blocking it. Let them see the world. Does that technology even exist?

Like The Dude says - "Oh boy. How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm once they've seen Carl Hungus?"

There is actually a US funded proxy server for Iranian citizens. When their government blocks it we unblock it. We also do a lot to screw with their internet monitoring, which has picked up a lot since 2009. During the 2009 protests I was in touch with a couple of Iranians, it is a lot harder to do that now.
