Good Read and very realistic.

That is a really well written nicely investigated article. You don’t see that often when dealing with the non P5 teams. Thanks for sharing Johns1124.

This is Doc’s last year. I’ve heard the Board of Governors are sending him off into the sunset.
I was all set to part ways with Doc after the bowl last year, but if they are indeed letting him go then they darn sure better have someone better lined up and ready to pay.

We always look for the hometown discount. We never do a national search and try to pay top G5 money.

I don't want to get rid of Doc just for the sake of it and I hope it's not Lambert. That would be like trading in a Chevette for an Omni just to say you got a new car.

Also what would any coaching candidate think if the last guy wasn't retained after and undefeated nationally ranked championship season.

No it's on CUSA Prez.
There is no CUSA Prez. We do have a commissioner. She acts under the advisement of the CUSA member schools presidents. She does not have any power. It must all go through an approval process through the AD's speaking on their own president's behalf.

Why would you part ways with a coach coming off a top 25 season, potentially undefeated, with most of our team returning including our star QB? Before this season I was ready for a change. However, I can admit when I'm wrong and Doc has earned the right to Coach Wells the next three years. If Doc is forced out there is a chance the team blows up and we start a rebuild. Who would choose that route over bringing back a mostly intact top 25 program?

Well if they have said that then they are not qualified to serve in that capacity. You sure don't fire a guy who has the team in the AP Top 25. Especially if that school is Marshall

Agreed. Someone has to take a leadership role or else it’s like herding cats. Everyone does their own thing, which isn’t good ; or, we have no direction as a league - which is what we are experiencing now.
How much is this chick paid to be a yes man and sounding board for the presidents.

if it’s more than 100.00 a week, it’s too damn much.
