The climb continues to be a disaster in Morganhole

Western choked away a win the the last minute in front of a couple dozen fans at home

Fau gets curbstomped

And we crushed ODU (figured that was the proper word since Bleeds said our 6 point loss last week was us getting best bad)

Great weekend for me!!!!

Now let’s go Cowboys!!!

The defense has way to many undisciplined plays, but looks better.

The offense has gone backwards over the last few weeks. It’s getting pretty bad. They did pull it out at the end so credit is due for that.

Both FAU and WKU have a conference loss which is good for us. The East is very week this year-also good for us.

However, we cannot win the East as undisciplined as we play now. We easily lose to FAU, UAB and WKU all things being equal.

You can be happy we pulled it out yesterday and disappointed in how we’ve performed so far. We are not good. Can be good, but are not right now.

That pretty much sums it up. Other than fellow bottom 10er FIU, there don't seem to be any obvious possible wins for this crew. I predicted 7-5 before the season, but that will not happen. 4-8 looks about it. This team is just plain bad.

I'll just say what Huff said about ODU, they came in a much better team than anyone was giving them credit for being. Our game made the third one I'd seen them play (watched). Their Oline is as good as anyone we'll play the entire year, give those guys some credit. Their schemes are very good, look at the down-blocking and gap blocking they did against us yesterday.

They are really a QB away from being a very competitive east division team.

I remember 5.5 decades ago playing high school football for a man who knew so much more football than his coaching skills, but he said one thing I remember every time we have a game like yesterday; looks so undisciplined. He said that there is a fine line between energy and execution. To be really good at football or any other sport, a player has to be energetic without being overly excited or emotional. We are having a bunch of players whose energy is outrunning their execution. They'll learn, I just hope it is before next Friday night.

To be fair, losing by six as a ten point favorite and winning by seven as a 21’point favorite are close to being equally bad, mathematically, but I’m glad we finally won another game, it had been a while.
Don’t think I want you on my team. 😃

I know we’re not playing well, but everyone acting like 1-4 UNT is 5-0 on here. I think we still have a great chance to get the W Friday. If this team can play with ball control and discipline that’s half the battle. I still think this team is the most talented team in Conference, they just need to put all the phases of football together. GO HERD!

That 1-4 is based on losses to undefeated and nationally ranked SMU; the preseason pick to win the conference, and still should UAB; a LTU team that has played money games and is better than its record and UAB's real competitor; and an SEC team.

Meanwhile, we have lost to every team with a pulse we have played, plus a embarrassing loss to a 2-4 MTSU (us and something called Monmouth) and were taken to overtime at home by a 1-5 (HBCU Hampton) ODU.

No reason to not respect UNT and no real reason not to expect a beat down.

If we look at football this way we pounded a Navy team that beat UCF, which UCF beat Boise State who beat BYU this past week. We have a good football team, they just need to realize it and put it together. Also, I never said not to respect UNT we should respect any team we play.

A beatdown? C'mon Sam - I know your hard-on for Doc is still raging, but the Coach's name is Huff, Charles Huff! Since we have lost on the road so far to a team w/a pulse by 1 in a super-loud stadium. and then lost by 6 in an empty stadium, what about those 2 road contests implies a "beatdown" come Friday night? I could see you throwing that word around if we were 1-5, and had been getting blasted all season long, but that just isn't the case! Put down the reefer, my fren'...........

No, we are 3-3. Wins over a 1-4 Navy; a 2-4 HBCU I-AA; and, IN OVERTIME AT HOME, a 1-5 ODU. In other words, no one. Losses to 3-3 ECU, at home; 4-1 Appy State (I-AA Elon. 2-6 Georgia State; and the aforementioned ECU are the other wins) and a 2-4 MTSU. In other words, every team with a pulse.

BTW, if you think a Sun Belt stadium is "super loud" try turning the volume up when you watch P5 football. Yep, Kid Brewer is right up there with Kyle Field, Beaver Stadium, and Death Valley.

No reason not to expect a beat down.

I think the ODU game, might just turn our season around. We had lost three straight games in devastating fashion, prior to this past Saturday's game. No doubt confidence was down and pressure to win was up. Now we didn't look impressive, but we finally won one similar to how we had lost in the past.

To me this game on Friday will give us a "true" feel on our future.

@Rock98Dog can you remind Sammy again what Holliday's record was against teams that finished with a winning record?

Somehow this matters now to him/her.

I mean if we get beat down in texas he would just be following docs lead

So this is a rebuild year?

So the preseason polls picking us to win the division were wrong?

And surely a great football mind like yours predicted this before the season.

Link please.
We still control our own destiny. (Does that bother you) I dont need a link. New coaches, new schemes, new rules, new process. Yes...a rebuilding year, you hypocrite. This rebuild isn't for you sammy. Move on.

Sam - link please? Link please? You have to be kidding! This is not your high school debate team (the early 60’s?) reunion. It is a sports opinion forum. Key word - opinion. You don’t get to decide which opinions are right or wrong. Get over yourself, bud. btw - what, in your “opinion”, constitutes a “beat down”? The Cincinnati game under Doc? THAT was the definition of beat down. Over almost as soon as it started…..crowd completely taken out, I left at halftime (usually don’t). I think 21 point + qualifies….

No, the test of time does. I was simply pointing out that the new spin of “this is a rebuilding year” was pulled out of someone’s a** sometime Sunday morning. Pre-season some of us were pointing out that the rosy predictions were W R O N G, and others, including yourself, were spinning a totally different tale.

So, is this an opinion site? Of course. And I guess you want to change your opinion from what you were saying this time last month.

Got it. And, so when we judge your future opinions, we will remember how wrong you were about this season.

"We"? I think you mean "I"...................nobody else on here feels the way you do. The rest of us take this for what it is - a chance to vent, hollah & critique the team that we all feel passionately about, or else we wouldn't invest the time to follow what's being discussed here....

Actually lots of posters have very good information and views to share about the team.

Then there is you and your little group, who conduct yourselves much like Spamites, just praising and praising that which obviously is not praiseworthy.

Recently you and some others have adopted the language of losers, talking about “pride” and “rebuilding” and other such non-sense.

Thought you said MU won't win another game unless the ODU game is an outright blowout.

So no link then.

Thought so

Still awaiting your link for wvu's president saying they don't care about the state or whatever you claim he said.

No they are not. And, we are not real good either.
Relative to the entirety of the FBS no. They're not. Relative to our schedule and our past performance they are. While their QB isn't on anyone draft boards he's a playmaker and a seasoned player who will cause our defense problems.

I don't even care about our defense to be honest because even the most explosive CUSA teams are only averaging around the 30s. I just don't understand why our offense just fell off a cliff after the 3rd quarter against ECU. Competition? Eh maybe, but MTSU and ODU are not that good. ECU is "better" and Appy is a strong G5 squad, but I still don't get why the offense has just continued to fall apart. Carmsey needs to do some soul searching between now and Friday.

That remains the most likely result.

SamC, you can make all kinds conclusions, arguments, etc., by comparing scores, etc., against various teams. Yeah, UNT lost to a nationally ranked SMU squad. That same undefeated, ranked SMU squad happy and lucky to get out of Annapolis with a ONE score win over NAVY! And, what was the score of the MU-NAVY game, also at Annapolis, SAM? SOOOOO, what does that have to do with the outcome of the MU-UNT game Friday night? Exactly ? ? ? ? ?

That remains the most likely result.

Sam - you are always requiring a “link” from the rest of us to prove your false narratives “correct”. Now you require that we physically visit a library…..to do research?? It’s almost like you don’t know what a “link” refers to? I think you are now the link….the missing link! lol
