MH must have heard or read this thread and has tweeted an apology.
"I passionately respect and truly appreciate anyone who has supported my Alma Mater in any way, shape, or form and always will.
GO HERD!"

As he should. He did say some fans have "no life" and if you're not a BG member your opinion really doesn't matter.

What I love is that you have a coach's show that IMG sells sponsorships in, and then the AD live-tweets every word so you don't have to listen to it.

Appropriate response during the election season.

I agree, its hard to see an apology in this statement. Its just another statement, maybe one intent on correcting, but not an apology.

I will say this: All of us should be Big Green members -- even if it's just for a minimal amount. Everybody buys in at all these other schools. When I was in school, I remember when Clemson kicked off their IPTAY (I Pay Ten A Year) campaign. Now look at their support!

A letter written by Dr. Fike to Neely, dated August 21, 1934, seems to pretty well pinpoint the exact date of IPTAY's formation. The opening sentence: "Last night we had a little meeting out at my house and organized the IPTAY Club," Fike wrote. The purpose (of IPTAY) shall be to proved financial support to the athletic department at Clemson and to assist in every other way possible to regain for Clemson the high athletic standing which rightfully belongs to her."

Wow you were in school then! Impressive!

Yeah, especially when you consider that Ten Bucks was some serious money back in 1934; nation still coming out of the Great Depression!!
