In just 23 minutes of play he finishes with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 blocks.

The 11 blocks are a Heat franchise record!

Great seeing a Herd player playing so well. Making them a far better team
I love how he blocked shots on gasol. He cried every time whiteside blocked his shot

Heard a new term because of this feat. Announcers on ESPN radio called it the "triple dozen" (since he had more than 12 of each).

That was a new term to me.

I love the NBA. Best BB in the world. Maybe now instead of all the silly post nba sucks now just because of One herd player people around here will follow the heat and whiteside. Not close having Around 20 players in the nba like ky. Almost every game has a cat playing. Whiteside is a great story. Kid keeps it up by plating hard and keeping quiet he will be a millionaire this time next year. Its hilarious. HE IS playing like a veteran and at times the most dominating player on the flloor. Bosh shoots the 3 better but thats it. Wow whiteside isvthe man.

+1

If you look at some of the Top 25 duds this week and compare the team's stat line to Kyrie Irving's night last night, it's pretty comical how crappy of a product college basketball is.

#18 Northern Iowa last night scored 59 points on 16 assists and committing 12 TOs
#12 Wichita State last night scored 58 points on 11 assists and committing 8 TOs
#23 Miami last night scored 50 points on 9 assists and committing 12 TOs
#21 Georgetown on Tuesday night scored 53 points on 9 assists and committing 17 TOs
#20 Baylor scored 53 points Tuesday night on 8 assists and committing 13 TOs
#2 Virginia scored 50 points Sunday on 12 assists and committing 13 TOs
#20 Northern Iowa scored 54 points Sunday on 14 assists and committing 16 TOs
....and of those 7 terribly played games, the ranked team went 4-3 in those games. Terrible basketball being played when those performances result in a win more times than not.

Those average out to be 53.9pts, 11.3 assists, and 13 turnovers.
Kyrie Irving scored 55 points last night, while also having 5 assists and only 3 TOs. Much cleaner game to watch.

Speaking of how bad college basketball is compared to the NBA, Georgia Tech was held to 28 points on 2 assists, and shot 0-12 behind the 3pt line last Thursday night. On the same night, Klay Thompson scored 37 points in the 3rd quarter vs the Kings, and shot 9-9 from behind the 3pt line during that quarter.

Also, just a few nights ago, the wvu vs Kansas State game, there were a total of 64 FTs attempted and 45 turnovers between the two teams. I'm sorry, but you can see better basketball being played during lunch time at any junior high gym in WV.

Kids are not Fundementally sound in college. They come around "SOMETIMES" around 22 or 23. Its not one and dones thats causes college players to not be sound..Say 300 teams playing 9 kids.2700 hundred players minus 30 to 35 coming out early. Half of them riding the pine. Lack of fundementals plain and simple. I shoot free throws better than mist college plays.

Yet, for all the $$$ these guys get, there is a HELL of a lot of CRAPPY NBA basketball out there. You all can mention a few crappy college games out of hundreds of games played weekly, but you can't point to many, or even any great or good basket ball games played by the Knicks, the Sixers or the Timberwolves this season! This is probably why you won't see these teams on very many national TV broadcasts this season.

I didn't mention the worst college basketball. I gave you 7 ranked teams who could barely score more than 50 points through the first five days of this week & have a wayyyy too close to a 1:1 turnover to assist ratio.

Fran Fraschilla(sp?) is a college basketball commentator & former coach. He talks all the time about college basketball being unwatchable due to a 35 second shot clock, archaic offensive systems, lack of fundamentals, and too many old school coaches on the rules committee who won't progress the game. I'm not dissing college basketball because I hate it. I'm dissing it because it's a shit product and it's getting worse & worse. I hate saying that.

UConn is barely cracking 50 tonight. This is a nightly thing in NCAA basketball.
#16 Maryland barely cracked 50 tonight too.
