Help Bring the Board Back

As most know, the main board on here is a ghost town. Do your part and help bring it back by giving it some activity by reading the thread linked below.

This same moderator deleted a thread of mine from a few days ago. Other moderators told me they did not agree with his deletion and that he was overstepping his role. Now, he is using personal information towards me even though he suspended an account for a month for doing that same thing just a week ago, and he pinned a warning about it for anyone else who posts personal information. He also claims that we will respect any hire made by Marshall athletics.

Nothing I posted was inappropriate, false, or unfair. It is very reasonable to be opposed to the hire based on his major NCAA violations, his below average coaching productivity, and the fact that no other school has touched him since his show-cause (a rare punishment the NCAA doles out set aside for only serious cheating and ethics violations) expired 1.5 years ago. But since this moderator tries protecting his relationships in the Marshall football office, he violates his own rules (and those in the Rivals terms and conditions) and continues to ruin the board.

Believe it or not, but success of a Rivals/247 page is vital to recruiting. Recruits like to see their names being posted and discussed by fans of teams who are recruiting them. They like to see activity on those boards. If a 17 year old goes to visit team boards and sees them as ghost towns, it is a fair indication that the fans are apathetic. It is not a good indication. With the actions this moderator has made (which include actions over the last year while I wasn't here), the board has turned into a ghost town. Other moderators have stated that they believe he fails in properly talking to people in a correct manner, is abrasive, and oversteps his bounds. His actions hurt Marshall's recruiting, and as we all know, we need any help we can get.

Others can, also, but they are immediately suspended, deleted, or chased of (unless they are a paying member, in which case they can be realistic on the premium board because recruits don't see it).

It comes down to common sense. Would a recruit either see a board with no activity and an apathetic fan base or a heavily active board with a lot of heated discussion between people who think the program is fine and others who think is needs fixed?

I believe the latter is far more attractive to a recruit since it shows people care. The horrendous moderating being allowed over the last year is a huge disservice to Marshall's recruiting. That is what happens when you hire a moron and a hypocrite to moderate.

I am guessing the moderator has been suspended for at least a month. About a week ago, he suspended an account for posting personal information. He made it such a big deal that he pinned a thread about it at the top of the board. He stated that anyone who posted personal information moving forward would receive the same suspension.

He revealed my name and where I worked. He then claimed it didn't count as revealing personal information because he only revealed my first name and he didn't use any Rivals database information in posting the personal information. When contested on this, he then claimed that I posted that information about myself. Of course, knowing I have never volunteered that information, I asked him to show me the posts where I had ever done that. He disappeared from the thread after that, and another moderator deleted all of his comments where he violated his own rule and the Rivals terms and conditions by posting my personal information. Don't worry, I screenshotted them so he can't lie and say he didn't like he lied about other things.

So, Josh Stowers should be banned for at least a month. Lets see how hypocritical the moderating team is. We already know how hypocritical HerdFtblFan is.

I got into it with Josh the other day. I even told him he needs to take some lessons from Chris in customer service, because the man has zero soft skills.

At least the guy on that "other board," who is the biggest Homer Marshall koolaide drinker to ever walk the earth, will allow you to state your opinions and argue with him without trying to insult you.

I can get over the fact that he is abrasive. Hell, I purposely act that way to certain people on here for the entertainment factor. What I can't excuse is his hypocrisy and his lying.

He claimed that his revelation of my personal info wasn't hypocritical because he didn't use my full name and didn't get the personal info he posted from a Rivals database. The foolishness with those comments doesn't need to be explained. He also stated that I had previously stated my name and/or where I worked. Both of those things are false. Others may have posted that information with no suspension, no private messages, no deletion of the information (which was my point last year: people routinely violate that rule with me, aren't held accountable, yet I was banned for not even doing that), but I definitely didn't. So, when I asked him to point out the posts where I ever gave that personal information, he disappeared since he knew I was lying.

He demands that we respect the hire of a huge cheater and liar, yet he is on record celebrating the firing of a former Marshall player and head coach.

He then had the audacity to boast that the paid site is as good/active/successful as it ever has been, while ignoring that the overall board is as bad as its ever been in fifteen years which coordinates with the time he came on board.

No, he is not. But he is uniquely qualified to give an opinion from a certain point of view, a point of view which I welcome due to his experience and knowledge.

Ryan, you need to take this campaign private. You know how to reach me. I WILL be on your side if you follow some very certain rules, which you did NOT break in this case, IMHO.

I think you misread wv-fan's post.

His comment of "give it a rest, Ryan" was mocking the quote that the hypocrite used twice. He then laughed and referred to the hypocrite as a "tool." He wasn't mocking me for thinking that only my opinion was objective. He was asking if I am the only one who is objectively looking at it since the hypocrite clearly isn't.
