Henderson Center

The women's basketball team was practicing in the rec center two weeks ago; probably because it has AC. The Henderson Center pool is only 48 1/2 meters long after they remove the bulk head plastic deck thing in the middle , to short to hold an official long course 50 meter Olympic meet so they only have 25 meter short course meets. Rumor is that the pool was shortened to reduce construction costs when it was built years ago. The place needs torn down and re built

Legal reasons are we don’t need anymore banks, look I don’t know what the answer is but I do know Huntington allows Banks to be built in some of the best locations for entertainment and family venues.. that’s all I’m saying, maybe someone at the city building needs to think about this..
obviously the bank shareholders and board believe there are needs for more banks or they wouldn't build them. They are in business to make money. If they didn't think a new bank would generate income then they wouldn't be built

We also have too many fast food restaurants, payday loan places, pawn shops, plasma donation centers, etc.

Yep. Does Huntington have more Banks, Churches or Recovery Houses?

You guys might want to read the city’s zoning codes, and the state code that allows the city to have one. They can zone a place, more or less, residential, commercial, or industrial. They cannot decide what type of commercial a particular property is used for. If a lot is “commercial” then it can be a bank or a hot dog stand or a car lot or whatever. Little thing called freedom.

Who physically goes into a bank facility or drive thru more than a few times a year ?

So Huntington has too many bank branches?

Morgantown has 35.

Charleston has 23.

Huntington has 21.

I understand that business is business, but at some point to can not allow prime real estate to fall at the hands of a facility that will add nothing. It only reduces opportunities to grow a downtown that will welcome people to spend their money... banks close at 5 if everything becomes a bank then guess what?!

maybe we need banking zone, flatten every home from 1st street to sheetz (west end), and start building all the banks you want.!

Building more and more banking locations for an EVER shrinking population . . . BRILLIANT!!
