Watching the Clemson GT game. Next week Louisville vs Clemson that will be a game to watch. Is Louisville looking forward to that game and expecting an easy win this week????

UL is amazing in all 3 phases. Everyone is keyed in on Jackson, but UL's D is damn good. UL scores so quickly every game should be a shootout, but it isn't. What does that tell you?

I think they'll over look us and still hang 70 on us if the same team I watched first 2 games is the team that shows up to play the Cards.

This is actually the first time I've ever actually have been afraid to watch a game and am worried about the outcome at the Joan since it opened.

Ever.

Man up Nancy. :D

This game will get out of control very early on. Louisville is not going to allow a game like this (same to them as playing Charlotte) to get in the way of their national title hopes as well as potentially having Lamar Jackson's Heisman hope go down the drain due to taking the game forgranted.

Sure they have Clemson next week , but they also had FSU following Syracuse and had Charlotte before Syracuse , that should tell most they do not overlook any team or at least have not so far this season. They could have been totally focused on FSU when playing Syracuse but were not , went at them just as they did Charlotte. And did they ever lay the wood to FSU.

So if anyone thinks they come into Huntington looking ahead to Clemson (who won last night vs Ga.Tech) , just consider the above and the way Louisville has destroyed every team they have faced , on the road or at home.

A Louisville win tomorrow sets up a wild one the next week , two top 10 teams fighting for national supremacy , the top of the ACC , the opportunity for Clemson to show the world last season was no fluke and for Louisville to show they are with no doubt the best team in the nation at this time.

Big , strong , quick , and very efficient on both sides of the ball. Their focus appears to be there every week , intent is to get out quickly take control then bury the opposition.

I doubt anyone will see anything any different this week.

Then again , the blind hog does occasionally find an acorn..so who knows , but I am not going to hold my breath for sure.

Well MARSHALL77 that is a very supportive comment for our team! I'm sure the players reading your post imagine all is lost and just forfeit the game.

Who knows , as said , the blind hog..

Reality and calling it as I ( as well as most around the world of college football ) see it - why would anyone seriously expect anything different out of Louisville than what has been witnessed so far this season.

A lot was learned about this team and coaching staff as a result of the Akron debacle.

Would I like to see us defeat Louisville ? Without a doubt ,however most just do not see anything that lends itself to that happening.

You can't take something stated by the media and extrapolate that out to mean that the team has the same opinion. Of course the media is expecting Louisville to win...vegas has Louisville as a 3+ TD favorite and they have a product to hype in two defeated top 10 teams facing off next week in a game that may decide who goes to the college football playoff.

Everything I've read and heard from the players - its business as usual this week. There was even more than a few comments of "business as usual" in the locker room directly following the FSU beatdown.

If I had to predict a game plan for tomorrow it would be that Petrino comes out aggressive and attacking early (shocking I know) and tries to put the game away at half time in order to give the 2nd and 3rd units more reps and keep the starters rested and healthy. I have no idea if he'll be able to do that or if the team will be focused enough to pull that off...I would honestly rather have opened the season with Marshall and had the Charlotte game this week because this game is the quintessential definition of trap game...hopefully even a distracted UL team will play well enough to win.

I'll be making my first trip to Marshall tomorrow to see it in person....

Well, safe travels and hope you enjoy your trip....just not too much!

I expect the game to be closer than the Syracuse game. We have a better offense and defense than Syracuse and the atmosphere at the Joan should be much better than the silence in the Carrier Dome. The key will be to not give up big plays early in the game, which could take the crowd out of it.

Louisville fan here. I think it will be a competitive game into the fourth quarter. Marshall is going to score on Louisville more than Syracuse did. You guys probably jump out to an early lead too.

I actually think the game will resemble the Syracuse game. Based on recruiting rankings both programs have a similar talent level as both programs seem to consistently recruit classes ranked between 50-75 and with a distracted UL team I can see them playing sloppy like they did against Syracuse and while they might not really keep Marshall in the game I think they might keep the score at that 14-21 range throughout most of the game. The Syracuse game was frustrating to watch as UL had nearly 10 dropped passes, 2 fumbles and multiple penalties...and even though UL was running on Syracuse at will Petrino still dialed up multiple deep shots instead of running it and shortening the game. It was the most frustrating 5 touchdown win I can remember sitting through.
