There are certain gubment jobs that need the best people. Prosecutors should get zero leeway. Their entire job is to bring the might of the gubment down on individuals, which will end in one of four ways. Loss of property, loss of rights, loss of life, or acquittal. It’s a crazy amount of power to bring against someone. If a defendant’s attorneys are worth anything, they’ll expose anything that could help their client.

Especially if you’re going after a person who, by the nature of their job, gets afforded a crazy amount of legal protection. They have to know the microscope they’ll be be under - at least I hope a prosecutor is smart enough to understand that
