I think it's fair to say that this guys is crazy not because of his views, but because he is...well...crazy. I don't think any political capital can be claimed here. There is plenty of crazy to be pointed out on both sides.

Huh? I never claimed I wasn't ideologically conservative for most of my adult life. That's the reason I pointed out my voting record in the first place. I've also pointed out multiple times that my dislike for ideological thinking is something that's developed over the last two to three years. It became my experience that it made me intellectually inconsistent (a fancy way of saying dishonest).
Just like this thread...if it were a conservative that shot up a bunch of democrats the liberals on this board would be grasping the opportunity to make it political instead of being appalled by those making it political now. In ideology the point isn't the point...winning one for the team is all that matters.
My point was more of an off-hand observation after reading a lot of his posts/editorials. Not to really condemn the lefties on this board as I don't think any of them are unstable enough to actually do something like this. Sure, ever since Sabo left the board female posters are safer, but I don't think even he would go this far. The right-wingers seem to beat their chest & say what they would do against the government, the left-wingers seem to be out actually doing it.
Unless something turns up that actually points to his lack of "mental stability", then, his ideology stands as the reason.
Looking at some of his "posts", he looks like your average "feeling the Bern" voter. Watching some of these lefty talking heads discuss this, it's like a giant hope that authorities will find a home full of mutilated house pets, so they will be let off the hook for encouraging this moron (using a typical liberal description of another party's voter) to push ahead the "RESISTANCE".

I'm not sure what you're implying here, GK, but I'm no ideologue. I haven't voted for a republican POTUS since 2008. I generally vote republican in congressional and local races because I value fiscal conservatism more than I do social liberalism. With that said, I am as socially liberal as anyone: I support legalizing drugs, gay marriage and abortion. I don't believe in any gods, mythology or superstition.
With that said, this guy's motivation was clearly political. Was he mentally ill? Sure, but most people who claim to be "democratic socialists" are wired strange. Those are the same people who think there are more than two genders, and that they are entitled to the fruits of other peoples' labor.

Just as concerning as your criminal enterprise, is that somebody who made numerous claims of who they were voting for 24 hours before voting, then changed their mind. If you are adamant about voting for somebody 24 hours before, then change your mind and vote for somebody else, it should fit under the IQ test we need to implement to be allowed to vote.
This shooter's mistake was that he wasn't a Hillary supporter. He would have already been awarded a "victim of the system" status. That's not to say that it wont eventually happen anyway.
