Huff needs to stay of off twitter and do his job.

If you guys/gals don't think WVU monopolizes the media.......you might want to reconsider. They have and will continue to do so in the future if at all possible.

We all thought it was cool when Doc and Herrion were buddies. It's a lot better than being adversarial which is usually the case. They're competing for funding.

Now he has been here for 5 minutes and he's already the biggest fan which to some may come off strong.

Still this is what we wanted. As of right now Coach Huff is the antithesis of Doc. Let's just hope he's more Bob Pruett and less Ron Jirsa.
And a LOT LESS Dwight Freeman.

Whether you like it or not, social media is the nature of the beast in so much of society today. Coach Huff is only using tools available to him. If you don't move forward with technology, you're going to be left miserably behind.

Some of his tweets lately make it seem like a guy who had never been kissed.
Now he's running around Social Media boosting about it.

Dam man, act as you have actually been an HC before. The Tweet to the Alum
and Ex-Players was cool. I don't get the tweet to the MBB, knowing that WV
players make up a small majority of the roster, this one doesn't make sense either.

Don't get me wrong, nice statement, but a little odd.

Spend less time on Social Media making strange statements and more time recruiting.

BAD take. Like really bad.

1. Idk how you don't think tweeting support for other athletic programs like the MBB and WBB teams doesn't make any sense. To me it makes perfect sense as the overall success of athletics here at Marshall helps Football. Not to the degree that Football helps the other sports, but having a good athletic program overall does benefit football so he's just trying to show support to the other programs on Campus.

2. The Tweet to HS coaches isn't about "recruiting" it's about acquainting himself to and engaging with the local community. People and players who are or could be fans/supporters of the University if the right relationship is built.

3. Like it or not, but in this day and age, being active on social media is part of the job.

This was a wvu plant reporter. I am sure of it. They are trying to rattle Saban, a West Virginia native but not wvu's coach. Either you are with the 'eer or against them. If they will do this to a legend and native son like Saban what would they do to Charles Huff?

You know what's wrong with these boards. Why there is so much hostility towards each other. It's because TITM is gone and we have nowhere to take out our frustrations.
I agree. It is like Afghanistan. I have a great idea.

How about they bring back TITM and they let me moderate it? They won't have to worry about a thing.

Sadly those are times long gone. Chris will never bring it back and even if he did I don't think the eerdiots would care enough to come back. There was only a select fee of us from either side that went there.

They could easily be lured back in. Not hard to do it, we have ways.

Yore leaving out 2 others there Sport
No, he got it right. You two were the sacrificial lambs. The real leaders - those pulling the strings - got away scot-free and ran back to their palaces where they are neighbors with George Soros.
Is that what happened to @HerdChemist or whatever his name was? He always used the smoking smiley emoji in every post.

I like that that Coach Huff is engaging in social media but he needs to do a little research. In an early video he referenced Coach Dunning (actually referring to Donnan). Just recently he gave a shoutout to BRYON Leftwich. No, its Byron.

That was in his presser. I think he was going for Donnan, but crossed his words.

You are 87.

According to herdzone.com, 16 players are on the roster. 7 are from W.Va., 2 are from close by (Corbin, Ky. And Proctorville, Oh.), and 7 are from out of the area.

Most likely due to being nervous and exited as hell and a typo? c'mon is this even worth mentioning? That video you're referencing was his introductory press conference that happened 10 days ago and this is the first time i've seen anyone mention that Donnan thing. A typo speaks for itself. He may be our new HC but he is still human.

@Stone_Cold, can you elaborate on the nefarious social media strategy WVU will deploy to ruin the new Marshall coach?
I would but I'm still shocked at the OP wanting your head coach to stay off of Twitter and social media. OP must also yell at kids to stay off his grass.

I don't think WVU needs a plan to ruin your new coach. Your 'fans' are already working on it based on some of these posts.

Funny, after all, that happens people are still giving me shit about it. The only person who got what I was saying was Josh.

Look, of course, I'm not saying abandon for recruiting purposes. I'm talking about some of the other videos. Believe me they are nice and all... but..

When you first get a job, you don't walk into the office gunning for the VP's position, you try not to make any waves and bring undue attention to yourself. I think the first goal is to prove to the higher power it was a good hire...by... doing your job. Personally, I appreciate a blue-collar work ethic to a white-collar position. Keep your head down and do what you were hired and it wasn't to cheerlead for the MBB team.

Obviously, the last tweet to WV HS coaches sort of blew-up on him. The strange part is he had to know what was coming, not sure why he published the video anyway, looks disingenuous. Just asking for backlash. Maybe less videos, and more results with recruiting and wins in games next fall.

Don't get me wrong having a four-star commit is nice. But, let's actually get him signed and on campus before we call it a total victory. Besides that, some of his hires have definitely been questionable. MU's only bright spot has been Defense all year. Basically, the whole D coaching staff was cut.

One of our concerns was play-calling and OC. Well, Cramsey was kept on. Personally, not sure what to think about that. If we open the season and get worked over by the Mid-Shipmen and our plays consist of screen-left,screen-right, all skills positions in motion full-back dive on 3-8; punt. Well, we know what the problem is we will be still left wondering why he was retained.

If only one person gets it, that's a bad sign. If Coach Stowers is that one person, it's an abysmal sign.

As the most visible face for the school, he is doing exactly what needs to be done. His support for the basketball programs not only helps those programs, but in turn, will result in those staffs and players supporting the football program. Yes, cheerleading for the other sports programs and the overall success of the university IS part of what he was hired to do.

He's the head football coach at an FBS. He's higher than a VP position equated to a private sector job. He isn't "gunning" for any job, because he's at the top of the food chain in his position at the university. He has no desire to be the AD or president of the school.

If you're going to plagiarize everything that I posted, at least don't use the same exact words to describe them.

What's amazing is that you're a deplorable who had no problem with the guy leading our country tweeting 40+ times per day, yet you have a problem with a guy leading a football program tweeting 4-7 times per day.

Who is this person posting under Rifle's handle? These words make total sense, and line up w/ my feelings on the subject. Or, in making a 1970's CB radio reference, did I just nullify my comment?

rifle is the Official Football Advisor of Herd Nation.

the finalists were rifle, Perkins, Coach Stowers. Easiest decision I ever made. The other two were just token interviews.

It's an analogy, not literal. I'm sure you get my point about heads down and get the job done.

I don't feel agreeing with your statement, rises to the standard of plagiarism.

If you look in the correct forum and review some of my statements, you will find I have actually said the person in question should as well stay off of Twitter. I guess he has no choice now.

I'll take an energetic coach like Huff over an uninspiring-just going through the motions-coach like Doc was. Sorry. I appreciate all that Doc did, but I don't think he knows what a Twitter is.

It is refreshing to see a younger, energetic coach reaching out to his core audience and others. It isn't just about X's and O's anymore. Building relationships is essential to just about any facet of life both personally and professionally. How do you think I became Podcast producer? Let's get through Signing Day, the rest of the offseason and let's get it done in 2021.
