Huggins arrested for DUI

Drunk off his ass, at 8:30 pm. So drunk the luxury SUV was stuck in the middle of the road, having driven on a flat time so long it disintegrated.

What will happen?

Nothing.

This story is very similar to what happened when Cincinnati finally fired him. He was well known for getting drunk at the casinos just across the Indiana line (at the time Ohio didn't have casinos). Cops would let him go. Finally took a wrong turn out of the parking lot and drove deeper into Indiana, and ran into a cop who did not take well to the "don't you know who I am" line.

USPAM knew this when it hired this guy. He is a drunk. Not a one-time, big-mistake, got a DUI drunk, but a lifetime addict, a person who has gotten out of 100s of DUIs. A person who has fallen over, drunk off his ass at public events. An addict. They don't care. And, sadly, neither did the HOF when it put this, never won a game that mattered, journeyman in the HOF.

He will be sent to some fake therapy, pronounced cured, and donate $100 to some group.

No. I think this will definitely be the end for him. He’s going to resign, allowed to take the remainder of his contract and go about his business.
I just told my brother :
This was a kamikazee, “I am NOT gonna spend the rest of my life faking that I love “those people” (add in here every imaginable homo/religious/ethnic/eco/slur), and I certainly am not going to give up the bottle”
effort to force his separation from wvu….

Not surprised at all. If the headline was “Bob Huggins Pulled Over While Sober” then I would be surprised.

They have to fire him now. What if he did this again and he killed somebody? He's finished.

WVU is a shit storm right now. Having tons of issues on all levels
Long editorial on Metronews last week. Seems USPAM's financial problems are the fault of WV taxpayers. With the first MU grad governor and less WVU graduates in the legislature than at any time since WWII, the per capita $$ taken from WV taxpayers to subsidize the thin envelopers from New Jersey, et al, is going down for the first time in history.

In sports (check out USA Today's highly accurate college sports spending data base, out this week, which, along with bursting the myth/lie that WVU sports are "self-supporting", shows just how far behind they are at the level they wish to play at, where they simply cannot compete) WVU is just a field-filler. Texas and Oklahoma move up in a year, leaving behind a random set of leftovers that TV networks just don't care about.

In student recruitment, WVU's act (virtually open admissions, a rare thing for schools with "p5" sports; ultra low academic challenges; ultra subsidized out-of-state tuition) is wearing thin. Pennsylvanians and New Jersites are looking elsewhere.

Then comes Huggins, and Gee. Reprehensible people who not decent organization would associate with. It shows just how low and disgusting WVU is.

Could the next era see real reform at WVU? Major (doubling or tripling) out-of-state tuition? Serious academic standards, both to get in and then to get out? Programs aimed at WV and its needs?

One can hope. But my money is on just soaking the taxpayers, and business as usual.

As if the State of West Virginia doesn't have enough "black eyes".
And our self-proclaimed "Flagship" just keeps on "giving"!!

He came in that way🤣
Really the point.

This was a known drunk with a reprehensible lifestyle, WHEN THEY HIRED HIM. They didn't care. Same with Gee, a known racist and religious bigot (we didn't know Huggins was also a religious bigot until recently) who had left them for the big time two decades before, who Ohio State (not exactly the paragon of virtue itself) had had to fire, which they knew WHEN THEY HIRED HIM. Same across the entire place, in academics and athletics. Chock full of people no one else would have.

This is the arrogance of having no oversight. This is the arrogance of receiving the vast majority of WV taxpayer dollars aimed at higher education, despite doing virtually nothing for the state of WV or its students. The arrogance of actually being named for a state you do nothing for, converting what should serve the state into a place that is 100% aimed at non-Appalachians. 100% anti-West Virginia, except at funding time. Leaving the state colleges and Marshall to do the job. The arrogance of having a fanbase so stupid that they ACTUALLY BELIEVE the idiocy about being self-supporting, about how the Big 2 Little 8 is the same as the real conferences (and, in past times, yet more idiotic idiocy about the Lambert Least, the "Big" Least, and the Leastleftovers) and who will soon be 100% convinced that the Little Leftovers are the same as the SEC, ACC, etc. That journeyman loser coaches are super-geniuses. Arrogance.

And because everything good for WVU is bad for WV, and v-v, what a great day.

Yea. Add Holgorson to that list. He had a rep and they hired him and within a month he's getting tossed out of the Dog Track I believe.

WVU has one reputation and one only. Alcoholism.

Number 1 party school!
You know I have heard that so much, but I call BS. They get a bit crazy, but I've been to other places that were better. I went to Ohio State one weekend and it was next level. Even the friend I went with who was a WVU student said the same. The people were a lot more friendly and welcoming as well. You don't get that in Morgen Hell.

It’s worse than that. He couldn’t remember where he was from 1:30 in Washington PA and thought he was in Columbus, not Pittsburgh when he was arrested . This is second in the implosion of WVU. First, the 45 million deficit. Now Huggy Beer. With our leadership, we will soon pass WVU in all statistics. Wait and watch.

WVU fans defending him of course. Despite the fact this is a repeat offense and could have killed someone
Correct, TwolfHerdfan! However, still can't help but think that, knowing how some folks would attach part of their "kill" on their cars, like antlers on the hood, wouldn't this have been ironic, and perhaps, Poetic Justice: Huggs, despite being plastered, makes it all the way home WITHOUT being stopped by the police in Pittsburgh. After sleeping it off well into Saturday he finally wakes up. Goes out to his car and happens to notice, firmly plastered to the top of the front of his hood, is a . . . . . . . . . . . bloodied "Bow Tie"!!!

Pitt Rivals message board actually empathetic, not mean.
They also allow "outsiders" to post there. WVU's Rivals is either locked down or they revoked by posting privileges.
Edit: Now Pitt's Rivals board lists "insufficient privileges".

I feel sorry for him and his family. For those of you rejoicing in a persons downfall, is your house in order.
