Huggins arrested for DUI

I feel sorry for him and his family. For those of you rejoicing in a persons downfall, is your house in order.
For his family, agree MU PIKE. For the average person/human being, also would agree. However, for Bob Huggins himself NO. The man has been a total JERK, POS, and sorry mass of human protoplasm his ENTIRE Professional Career, apparently.

Since he returned to West Virginia, he has done NOTHING but run down, trash, and bad mouth Marshall and particularly its basketball program, etc. Just wish him extensive public scorn and embarrassment, along with misery, for the months ahead as a pathetic National caricature!

Finally took a wrong turn out of the parking lot and drove deeper into Indiana, and ran into a cop who did not take well to the "don't you know who I am" line.
No, you fvcking moron. He was arrested in Ohio, not Indiana. Why do you always spout bogus bullshit and try to pass it off as being accurate?

Apologies Sisters! Carry on
I’m sure Sisters won’t mind your mistake. That moron 1988 supporting it without apologizing is a different story. Nobody likes that guy.

It's not a matter of rejoicing.

It's a matter of a school hiring someone with a known problem that they continued to ignore over the years.
I truly believe Huggins thought his coaching skills were going to bail him out of trouble...and that's probably the case, because as long as you're winning, nobody cares if you're a child molester or a useless drunk. That also can explain his arrogant demeanor towards other programs and MU in general.

I admit, I get a kick seeing wvu fans act like they have some sort of moral high ground by saying he needs help and he should be supported in that, when if it were literally any other program, their message boards would be flooded with despicable comments and mockery of the program's coach.

It's ironic that a school who openly prides itself with the title of "best party school" has had two head coaches in its two major sports with public intoxication charges, DUI, and other alcohol related issues.

Nah, this isn't rejoicing, this is just seeing karma in all her glorious work.

BASKETBALL:

Huggins - as discussed. A known drunk when hired.
Beilein - Got into fight as Pittsburgh airport with TSA in a "don't you know who I am, the rules don't apply to me". Moved up to Michigan, moved on to the NBA. Failed.
Gale Catlett - Feasted on the ultra-weak joke conferences that WVU was in at the time. Hilljack fans swore they were "gonna win that there national champieeeen ship". WVU moved, against his will, to the Big East. Had nervous breakdown as he could not handle playing teams with the same/more resources. "Retired" mid-season.

FOOTBALL:

Brown - No issues, so far, but just seems inept. A symptom of WVU not being able to afford better as the Big 2 leave the conference high and dry.
Holgersen - Drunk in Huntington when assistant at Houston left behind to watch over injured player. When hired at WVU, got into drunken fight with security at the Cross Lanes dog casino. Thrown out face first. Multiple other drunk incidents across the state and beyond. At the Wonder Bar, in Wheeling, in Princeton. Only coach ever to leave a P5 for a G5. Floundering there.
Stewart - Over his head and done wrong by WVU, but remember he was fired at VMI for using the "n-word". Pushed out.
Rodriquez - Impregnated at least one cheerleader. Multiple drunk arrests. Sued after he left for realty fraud in sale of dilapidated house. Moved up to Michigan, could not handle it, fired. Moved down to Arizona, could not handle that, fired. Journeyman assistant after that. Now taking over Jacksonville State (which is in Jacksonville, AL, not FL) which is moving from I-AA to the new, yet lighter CUSA.
Nehlen - Feasted, like Catlett, on WVU ultra-weak opponents of the era. Seems like a nice guy, no issues, but really inept. Got ONE interview for a better job, Kentucky, which he didn't get that. Really couldn't handle even the slightly higher, but still low, first Big Least deal. Pushed out. Every hilljack was certain theysn's was gonna win that they national champeeeen ship.

AD:

Lyons - Aided and abetted the drunk antics of his employees. Fired.
Luck - A life of failure. We don't have that much time, but everything he touches turns to s***. Borrowed (from the state, will never be paid back) millions of dollars to join the Big 2, Little 8, a venture that didn't last 15 years.
Pastalong - Left WVU in deep debt. Pushed out.

PRESIDENTS:
Gee - Racist and religious bigot. Fired by Ohio State. Pushed out at Vanderbilt. Doesn't really have a PhD.
Clements - Moved up to Clemson. Seems OK.
Garrison - Manchin croney lawyer, no PhD. Not an academic. Hired Steward in cocaine and liquor fueled party after Orange Bowl. Gave fake degree to Manchin's daughter.

A trail of slime.

Since you asked.

Brad Smith doesn't play academic, he came to this job as a "non-traditional" candidate and was chosen for it by the people the owners of the university, the state, selected to do that function. He doesn't call himself "doctor", he doesn't in any way say he is a traditional academic president.

Gee pretends to be qualified. He calls himself "doctor". He has this quirky professor act that he uses when spewing his anti-Catholic and racist vileness, as if he is some kind of bookworm odd ball that should get a pass.

Garrison was worse. He is a lawyer. Yes, lawyers get a "JD", a "Doctor of Jurisprudence" but come on. So every ambulance chaser and sleezy divorce lawyer down at the courthouse is the same as an accomplished professor. He styled himself "Dr. Garrison" when running WVU for Manchin, giving out the fake degrees, etc.

Moron, you're the one who supported a post that was incorrect. Go back to only liking people's posts and not posting. You'll do the board a favor and not waste all of our time.
You follow me around, you call me out, you count my likes, you count minutes to my response, you are obsessed and pathetic.

I'll try to quit pulling your strings so you can get back to your tired old schtick.

Huggs' daughter is glossing over that he was on the last chance of his last chance before the DUI.

I hope he actively seeks and accepts help and has a happy, successful retirement. But to act like he didn't get a fair shake in all of this is his daughter being in denial of how serious his issues this off-season have been. Not to mention his past.

Also, without getting into whether it was a mistake or a poor decision, he was nearly 3x the legal limit with decades of acquired alcohol tolerance.

According to the internet this daughter has some kind of no-show publicist job at USPAM, courtesy of WV taxpayers. She lists no qualifications on any of her social media sites. Don't know if she has a real, or even a Manchin, degree from WVU or anyplace else. Apparently, pushing 40, she has never had a real job.

The $7,625 she made last year sure is a cushy income for a cushy job.

The only time Gee should be referred to as “doctor” is when he is selling bottles of hooch out of the back of Dr Gee’s Feel Good Medicine Wagon.

Many, many things are glaringly wrong about this.

Is his daughter his publicist? Does he need her to speak on his behalf?
I'd tell her to shut up and get off of Twitter.

She's trying to sling mud at a school and AD that's made of it. It's not going to do her any favors.
If there is any chance for Bob to get his job back (some online petition is going around for it), she's not making things easier by trashing the AD and president.

While they likely won't publicly get nasty with her, the school could very easily disclose to her in private, "you really want us to go there with your dad? Let's tell you why he isn't the saint you think he is..."

I am absolutely sure Bob was just trying to find the nearest recycling plant, at night, in Columbus.
I mean, when I am bombed drunk, with all those beer cans around me, the first thing I think of is how good it's going to feel when I haul my cans to the recycling plant.
I feel especially motivated doing this when I am in another state too.

There's already been like 8 players ready to leave wvu not even a week later, so they clearly aren't protesting for his job or are willing to stick around (her falsified belief that wvu actually matters to anyone outside of WV).

wvu paid him more money than many, if not all, public employees in WV. That sort of pomp and circumstance as well as their overall treatment of him, not only publicly making him royalty, but behind the scenes also, was more than enough effort.
Essentially, wvu actually did their part.
Bob failed in his.

Oh, and lest we forget, while the subject matter is debatable, the fact they allowed him to stay on when he easily could have been fired for his on air comments (in this day and age anyway) shows, they had openly given him a second chance...

Well third. Hiring him AFTER GETTING A DUI AND GETTING FIRED FROM UC, was his second known chance.

Let that sink in, wvu hired a guy who got fired for a DUI...gave him a life and money anyone could ever dream of, then fired him for...a DUI.

Bob had the rarity of a career that literally came full circle. It's like dying on your birthday.

She's also the dumbass who made jokes and comments to Maryland basketball player Dez Wells who (at the time) was previously expelled from Xavier due to sexual assault allegations. She called him a rapist.
He wasn't charged because not only was the lawsuit was dropped, but there was a countersue by Wells against Xavier for their expulsion process.
He won in a settlement.

So, yeah, she really needs to STFU.

Well, only WVU would have kept Huggs all this time given his prior record. The DUI back in 2004 was only part of his UC dismissal. The President there at that time (Zimpher, sp.) documented and cited his abysmal record in regards to the academic performance of his basketball players there. Around 16 years tenure, and the graduation rate of Bearcat players was around 25% or so. Of course, the on the floor success his teams had there cushioned him for a while and deflected criticisms and problems elsewhere in his program. Similar to WVU. Fact that Gee is even an overall BIGGER sleaze ball than Huggy, no doubt helped Bob immensely in keeping his job for as long as he did. In the end, however, Gee had to cave in face of the overall evidence, DUI, stupid homophobic comments on radio, etc., etc.

The humor from that letter, was how much Huggins helped people.
Clearly, he didn't help the student athletes with that graduation rate.

SamC said "Brad Smith doesn't play academic. . .". On the other hand, Gordon Gee plays "academic fraud", and has done so for many years. Obviously pretty damn good at it too!!!

Gets a slap on the wrist and a $3K fine.

No idea if this is a standard deal up there, or worse, or an insider deal. Don't live in PA, don't read PA news. Don't like PA, don't like Pennsylvanians, don't like the Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins.

In WV, DUI second offense is 6 months in the slam, although prosecutors often "forget" to introduce the evidence of the first conviction, cutting the jail time to 24 hours, in return for a heftier fine.

Basically, a few thousand dollars in fines for a multi millionaire. Imagine if some young inner city Black kid would have been arrested for the same offense.

This is considered a first time offense.

My perfect scenario is that he ends up coaching at Glenville, Marshall refuses to schedule them, then he loses his job when the college is disbanded.
