A difference of opinion over policy towards Iran (Obama's diplomacy vs Mattis suggesting war) vs Mattis resigning because even he thinks Trump is batshit crazy/unfit for office....totally the same thing.
While we may have differences of opinion over Hillary's politics, at least she is rational.
Trump needs to be clear: while his choice of policy in Syria may be disagreeable to some (including Israel), he needs to send Turkey a strong, public message that the Kurds are not to be fvcked with...and stand by it. The Kurds have stood with us too many times (and want a largely secular state, that's a worthy goal for us to agree with), they do not deserved to be fvcked once again.

This situation says a lot about respect. Mattis disagreed with Obama, Obama lacked respect for Mattis and fired him without having the respect to tell him. Mattis disagreed with Trump and Mattis had the respect for Trump to resign.

Obama was relieving Generals and military officials who did not agree with him right and left. He wanted yes men all around him.
If Obama would would have fired all the military who was badmouthing he would have maybe had a battalion left.
