I always liked reading about Egyptian pharaohs taking the throne then erasing all memory of their predecessor. We should do that with players who dump us. Erase all records of them ever being here.
I'm all for players getting a mulligan, but they should only get to use it until the completion of their sophomore seasons. This crap isn't sustainable for the majority of the teams in this sport.
We are just 1 day out from the portal opening and look at how many are in already. I know the HC leaving impacts that, but even last year Huff had to bring in nearly 40 portal players.

NIL and the Portal have ruined college athletics
So because a player bails on MU, or any program, MU fans should just forget about them?

Funny that the players, could easily have quit midway through the season, transferred, entered the portal, etc., didn't, they actually got better after their last loss...all the while the fans who had quit on them, now have the audacity to be mad they are leaving after having made program history...seeing through to the end.

You should only be allowed to transfer twice in 5 years. NIL is taxed. If you transfer a 3rd, you must pay back your current NIL income.
Kresser's transfer was different, So was Moss'. They both transferred down from 1A to 1AA. No portal. No NIL. Didn't have to sit out. Today, you can grab a sandwich for lunch at any school, and have dinner at your next school choice. College athletics is screwed. If somebody doesn't get a handle on this crap there won't be college athletics. I'm giving it 5 years.
IIRC scholarships are one year deals. Maybe they should be 4 YEAR CONTRACTS. Lock them in. Then, don't worry about portal.

I think we should replace NIL with paid endorsements in the same as the NFL. You breach your contract, you aren’t paid.
NIL won't be touched. You simply can't regulate it, given how money was tossed around under the table prior to this, it'll be impossible.
I will say, if you're a scholarship player and leave before graduating for the pros, you have to pay back your tuition money.
Nil goes toward cost of attendance. If you're making 50,000 and tuition is 40000 then sorry you gotta pay, no scholarship for you. And make sure it's taxed.
