1. Met some great UL card fans, and really enjoyed them. I hope we can keep the series going because I definitely would go to UL now. That team was clearly the best ever to play in Huntington, they are my pick to win the ACC now and go to the BCS final.

2. I thought Garet Morrell did a great job! Fantastic even for a guy that was playing HS this time last year and last night the #3 team in the nation this year. He got his "sea legs"late in the 2nd half and you could tell he was starting to feel it. I bet if he starts v Pitt we see even greater improvement. Watch out Chase is all I have to say....

3. I thought the D was vastly improved and looked better. Our baby DBs need some work but in time I think we gel into a good team.

4. Apologies but I can't be down on Legg. He needed to bring young Garet in slow and so to run it was what he did. He had to keep it super vanilla. If he asked too much too soon , it's like ruining a young pitcher early in is career. I bet Legg opens it up a bit more v. Pitt. Patience fan base!

5. I laughed out loud at the fire Doc comments. #3 team in the nation, what do you want with a baby QB?????!!!! LOL?

6. Wow to see our fan base show up at 40K strong and get the stripe the stadium correct and really be loud was awesome to be a part of and also witness.

7. Apologies part deaux. I predicted a bowl game would be a great year for this team, and I still hope we can make it. We are improving!

8. If Chase recovers we now have a good starting QB and a waters tested back up QB. You have to have that, if Chase gets healthy now we do.

Thanks to all the Cards fans that came, you simply were fantastic to tailgate with, I wish you well on the remainder of your season. You truly were a class act , everyone I met. That's a National Championship team , enjoy your run !!!

This is the best post I have seen from either board. (fans or nation)

Agree with everything you said. I believe we make a bowl, the record will depend on how fast those db's grow up.

i agree - our kids played hard - they were really thumping and they never let up
we were still punishing people at the end of the game.

we are a very young team.i hear pennington say that all the time, but it didnt sink
in until i saw the starting lineups on tv the other night. louisville started only about
2 sophmores and i counted around 16 seniors and 4 or 5 jr's.

we were the exact opposite we started around 16 sophomores. we have some kids
who can really play and i mean that we have a team that could play almost anywhere.
next year and the year after we are going to be loaded for bear.

I'm glad you posted this. People need to know,,we are on the right path. I hope by conference play we roll.

USA Today's "re-rank" has us down 7 more spots to #90, now below ODU @ #86 and just barely above FAU (99). That is who we are. Pitt, USM, MTSU, and WKU are beyond this team's ability, and 40 random people rounded up at a Wal-Mart could beat North Texas, UNCC, and FIU, coached by picking plays randomly out of a hat. That means, IMHO, the season comes down to FAU, which is homecoming in two weeks and at ODU coming off the USM loss four weeks later. Both games on ASN. MU has to win both to get to a bowl. I don't see it. 5-7.

1) I agree about their fans....Regarding their team, we'll find out next Saturday @ Clemson. It should be a great game.
2) Good for him coming in under very difficult circumstances but....I wasn't impressed. Your last line, I don't think Chase has anything to worry about, it's not close.
3) Agree
4) Not a Legg fan. He did our young QB no favors being so vanilla on 1st and 2nd down.
5) Agree 100%
6) Agree 100%
7) Agree
8) Nice that he got some experience and any conference opponent will certainly be much easier but I hope we don't need him. We'd be hard pressed to win 5 games.

Despite the outcome it was still a great day!

Hmmmm. So why did Petrino put his starter back in? Hate to disagree but later in the game Morell was looking pretty good vs the #3 team in the nation. Petrino was clearly concerned about something to do that.

I think Chase will be looking over his shoulder by year end if Morrel gets more snaps intra game.

No doubt about that ... Marshall had just scored back-to-back TDs to get the game back to 52-21 with still 13:25 left in the fourth quarter. Petrino definitely put the starters back in order to give UofL the best chance at a sustained drive (turned out to be over 6 minutes) and put the game away.

You've lost your freaking mind

I don't think we watched the same game? Although our coaches didn't help him at all with the gameplan, I didn't see anything from Morrell that would suggest he is anything other than a career backup. Chase is in a different world compared to Morrell.

Morrell can be a good QB in time, he is young guys, younger than chase when chase got his shot. Right now, Litton is better than any option we have by far, no way to talk around it and it makes whoever look funny when they try.

I think the improvement Morrell showed from game one (mop up duty against a team that may as well have been Div III) to playing a top 5 in Div I was quite noticeable. It's hard to say if he would progress to be as good or better than Chase, but he did have a few plays in the 2nd half that showed promise.

I think he is fast and could do some effective QB draws if he knew there was a play designed to do that rather than resorting to scrambling around after a broken play.
