They have a policy that says unless the Dr. (Ph.D.) is in the medical community they reserve it's use. I actually agree with you on this point Country. I live in a university community where I refer to my friends as Dr in professional settings and not so in social settings. In this case, it would be proper to refer to her by the earned title IMO. I know this isn't what you meant, but to my point earlier about all these professional doctorate degrees, Nurse Pracs are going to professional doctorate as well. There is already an uproar from Physicians stating they are not okay with Nurse Pracs introducing themselves as Doctor to their patients. I can't say I blame them, as it will only confuse patients.
