I have that itch at my old age. I did a lot of dirt bike riding. Some competitively. Haven't road one in decades. Have had surgeries over it, injuries, etc. Done all kinds of stuff on them back in the day.
I am figuring out how to buy one and hide it from the wife. But, my guess is she will here a YZ250 start up under the house where my tools and stuff are. Going to be hard to hide that. It is not the money but she thinks I will kill myself.
All the motocross bikes now are 4 strokes. A lot has changed. The cost is way high now because of the cost of building the bikes. I don't know how guys are doing it. Like major money.
Might have to look at a used one but, then who knows what you are getting.
The major reason I want it is to rip it through the sub-division and show what it was like it the old days. That is better done on a 2 stroke because of the noise. I have been watching a lot of old MX races from back in the day. The 2 strokes were way better because of the sounds and smell. The modern 4 strokes have a lot of advantages over the old 2 strokes. Back in the say you would have never wanted a 4 stroke, but the technology is insane now.
