After the WKU game then you clearly heard him say “ we have a package that Zban can utilize” moving forward to the bowl game. We assume that Grant Wells may not be ready.

If that’s the case after what we saw against WKU, I say let 2 of our current TE’s have a turn then.
Let Fancher play. I mean we did call those timeouts with 17 seconds left in that game to let him air out needles bombs. The coaching staff made more of an effort to get Fancher some live throws than they ever did for Luke.

I was googling around and found this concussion protocol list that college athletes must adhere to before they return…

It‘s a process of a series of observed activities by a physician or trainer. So there’s definitely a set protocol that each step must be equal or greater than 24 hours. So this is an NCAA mandated template that must be followed. You really can’t tell how long the process is from the above link, but from additional reading the “average” concussion protocol is around 10-14 days before return to play.

So maybe the concussion was initially assessed as being severe, but my guess is that post game you would have no idea the length of time that Wells will be out. That would likely be determined as they go. This is just me speculating though because I don’t know much personally about it. So feel free to add or correct anything in this post.

Thanks for posting. It's nothing to screw with. Hoping he can be back in 10-14 days and work his way back slowly.

I think he was just answering a question if they had a package for Zban. Right after a game like that, he wouldn't know how severe the injury was or how long he would be out. I would not read too much into what he said in that instance.
