I just read a sports column where the writer was critical of both Marshall and Vermont soccer teams because there were too many international players on the rosters. He said it took scholarships away from American players.

I guess if big rich schools like Ohio State can spend tens of millions to buy football players, it is just fine, but if smaller, poorer schools find a legal way to compete in a sport like soccer, it isn’t fair. Got it.

Cry babies. We found one tactic (not even really an advantage because everyone can do the same thing) that allows us to compete at the highest level. Whining because you don't get every single advantage over other teams is pathetic.

Every school has international players. They are just better in most cases. The US development system is broken. That's why our national men's team has sucked for a while.
What a bunch of whiners.

Yeah, Ohio State can pontentially buy a national title but no one complains about that.

So, they're saying we should take less talented players due to patriotism? lol. How stupid.
There is some discussion on a cap on the number of foreign player who can be on a college soccer roster. Stupid. It would be much better to put a cap on the NIL amount that can be given college athletes.
