we were at a large resort hotel. people in the bar, lobby, eating. 4 damn people from one family walks in the lobby wearing masks. Two of them teenage boys. The thing with the Saudis is the head of state (technically de facto head of state, but we know who is in charge) made the deal. That's an extra layer of stench beyond business dealings. Between Hunter & Jarod, Kushner seems to be more cautious (& not unstable AF like Hunter.) That's not an excuse as I started this thread a year ago because I think the deal is something that needs to be scrutinized.
And given the comments Biden has made publicly (& repeatedly) about the Saudis, I'm not really shocked they're not playing ball. That's not an endorsement of them, just an observation. Doesn't feel like we're using any leverage against them right now either. Biden gave them a shit-ton of weapons recently & got zero from it.

I still think with everything coming back on Hunter & James Biden - & their financial ties to Joe, that when Trump wins, the Dems will turn around & use the same playbook to impeach him once again. Politics, like the NFL, is a copycat league.
Don't forget about Kushner's $2 billion Saudi investment fund at Affinity. It's actually got close to $3 billion total but the other billy is additional foreign investment. I still have serious concerns with the expectations from them providing the capital, especially since Kushner's firm admitted (as of July) only a tiny portion of the funds had been invested. They're making plenty managing it though.
Affinity is an SEC regulated company so they're open to scrutiny. If Trump wins, I still think this fund will be how the dems go after Trump similar to how the GOP went after Hunter.

I've been keeping an eye on this Kushner fund story for a couple years now in the event Trump came back & easily won the WH in 2024. I did expect Kushner would have the same job he had after Trump defeated Bill Clinton's old lady. However, NBC kNew is reporting that he & Ivanka "won't have roles in his second term."

And that's probably a good reason Trump doesn't feel like needs Jared to be his Tom Hagen. However, I also think Jared doesn't want to open himself up to any limitations/proceedings on this Saudi fund because it's so lucrative.

Comparing Jared to Hunter is laughable.
The grifting Hunter performed to funnel cash to Mush Brain while in office can’t even be classified as a business.
Jared used the connections he established while in govt (and prior) to establish a business after he left the administration.
I wouldn't compare the two directly because frankly, I don't know how anyone could & it be taken seriously. And I say that as someone who isn't Kushner's biggest fan. If you gave people $100,000 & said they could either invest in a Jared Kushner OR Hunter Biden opportunity, with the stipulation that it could only be used on a 100% legal company, no one is giving their money to Hunter.
The only comparison I was drawing was just a familial similarity. GOP (rightfully so) went after Hunter, I could see Schiff & Nadler concocting something as revenge to drum up negative press. But, if NBC is correct, then it basically undercuts a lot of the case they would have. I really thought Kushner would take another position similar to the first administration.
