Why in the world do we play James Madison twice in one season? That is horrible scheduling. Reminds me a few years ago when we played Rio Grande twice.

Can someone provide a good reason for this before I smack my head off the desk too hard? Stupid.

you may have anger issues.

Playing the same team twice non-conference supposedly hurts your RPI.

Do we really have a concern there? Anybody actually think we make the tournament?

If not, then a game at JMU, which is to say very near the eastern panhandle (and MU has students and alumni in every county of WV) is a good idea. Getting JMU in here is OK.

First year I can remember we played 100% Div I schedule.

How mad would you get if I told you this is the second time in recent years that we have played JMU twice in one season?

At this point in the process I don't see how it hurts. Down the road maybe.

Well Ohio Herd it appears to me to be a very long road - I mean loooooonnnnng road. DD - well remains to be seen if this son of Marshall is going to follow in the footsteps of Greg White and Mark Snyder. Just saying

One of those was one of those preseason tourney games I thought.

I just do not like it. It makes little sense to do that.

Besides, can't a person have something to bitch about on a day when Turkey takes down a Russian plane?

Right, SamC, believe it might have been early on in Herrion's tenure that we played JMU twice, like this year 2 games within a less than 2 week span or so. Also, Can't recall that we ever played Rio Grande twice in one season in last 10 years or so. Now Donnie Jones did play several NAIA types, or Div. IIs, like Rio Grande, Pikeville (where he had coached), but don't believe he played same one twice in a season. Don't think that we ever had an AD that would schedule same small college team twice at home in same season, and don't think we would play such a team on the road.

This. I don't ever recall playing RG twice in one season, although there have been seasons when we played multiple non-D-1 teams.

I'd much rather see us play JMU (or any other D-1 team) twice than play a non-D-1.
