Put 52 on North Texas yesterday. Hope Doc will let Cramsey open up our offense Friday night. Figure La Tech will not hold back on us. Really hope this doesn’t turn into another Cincinnati game.

Yeah, 27 points won't be enough against LT. Actually, we've averaged just under 23 pts. of offense this year, excluding VMI.

Tech can score in many ways. Our D will get gassed from being on the field so much as Doc tries to take the air out of the football and win 6-3.

This is sad, but true. I heard Doc was trying to rationalize the consistent lack of offensive production we've displayed in the 2nd half this year is to "give our defense a break." Another brilliant coaching strategy from John Holliday. Only problem is 1) going 3 and out doesn't rest the defense and 2) it makes no sense at all.

Fun fact, and I apologize in advance for bringing facts into the discussion.

In the last four games, all wins, we have had a total of 6 three and outs in the second half.

Interesting, the game you guys liked the most in regards to how the game was called and how we scored more, etc, was the FAU game. The FAU game contained half of those three and outs.

In addition, one of the hottest names right now in college football is PJ Fleck. For those of you who watched the game and listened to the guys calling the game, this is his strategy as well. They talked about it for two hours. And I know we are not Minnesota. But at some point, for the love of God, give the man a little bit of credit for figuring out a way to get the team we currently have, some wins and getting us in a position to win (which has been the case for every game except Cincy,) and for putting us in the mix for a conference title in mid November with a team that has lost several BIG name players that were expected to not just contribute, but be all CUSA type players this season.

Hate him if you want, but good Lord. Here we are, with every goal other than being the G5 rep in a New Years Bowl, still attainable.

The crowd Friday will help. Those of you that stay home because you dont like Doc, are basically flipping the bird to every other letter winner, coach, fan, supporter, etc to ever wear the Green and White.

Dude, we could be winless and you would still think the same way about Holliday. You are truly incapable of holding any Marshall coach accountable.

P.J. Fleck wanted to slow the game down and run the clock. His goal isn't to NOT score and just run the clock. Do you honestly believe that's P.J. Fleck's strategy?

The difference here, ding-dong, is that we don't put points on the board. This season, against IA competition, we have averaged 7.37 points scored in the 2nd half.

So our goal is to not score in the second half? Come on man. Call me names all you want but there is simply no way you think that is factual.

That is what's happening, which is why your comparison to Minnesota or any other team which scores in the 2nd half, is completely asinine.

That's the issue with John's brilliant "strategy," of which you completely endorse. Either you're clueless about football or you are willing to make yourself sound like a fool to cover John Holliday's ass.

Aaron when has Doc unleashed Cramsey - the Bill Legg.2 OC? No one will ever know while he is on the staff what he is capable of in an actual game.

I heard earlier that LA Tech has cracked the Top 25 in at least one poll. Someone may need to verify. If true, this should stifle those who say MU needs to play a quality opponent, play a meaningful game, etc. And for Doc, it presents a chance to, if only temporarily, to silence, prove wrong, some of his critics and Win a game of some notoriety, a game that garners attention in the media, coverage and mention on Sports Center, etc., etc.

Aaron, you have to be able to see the difference in play calling once we get up by two scores in the second half. We still throw the ball, just not in the middle of the field and rarely every more than 8-10 yards downfield. On first downs we run or throw quick outs, plays designed for 3-5 yards. If we get five, we are running on 2nd down, if we get at least a positive gain, we wil run it again, or throw a short pass designed to gain 4-5 yards.

The problem with that is that you put pressure on the offense to have no negative plays and accumulate 5-6 first downs to get in scoring position. No matter who you are playing it's hard to get 5-6 first downs in a possession. Scoring drives need a chunk play or two that limits the need to convert third downs to only 2-3 per drive. We only convert 39% of our 3rd downs, so converting 5 in a drive would be a huge statistical anomaly.

LA Tech has received votes, but is not ranked in either AP or Coaches polls.
