Legg is Pathetic

Not trying to hate on Morrell either, but at this point in his career he does not belong on the field.
If Morrell doesn't belong on the field at QB then Gaines definitely doesn't, and I'm not trying to hate on Gaines either, he just isn't a QB at this point.

I am curious about Gaines. After seeing Morrell, I can't imagine Gaines being worse. He had some top notch offers like Alabama and Clemson to name a few. I know coaches like to redshirt guys but a kid who spurns the big dogs to play in C-USA usually play right away. Am I right to think maybe he was recruited by the top dogs as a athlete but he wanted to play QB and Marshall agreed?

Gaines really is an athlete not a QB right now. He supposedly far behind Morrell in terms of game readiness as he is very raw. I think everyone were offering him as a QB, but he looks more like an athlete on video.

I actually liked Morrells mechanics and seemed to throw a decent ball, when he wasn't running for his life. He actually showed he would step into a throw. Something Chase was inconsistent with last year.

Tough place to be in as a true fresh. Shitty play calling allowed the UL defense to tee him up on many occasions. Some dropped passes that should have been easy catches too.

Again, I'll say it. Cato had the ability to make Legg look like an offensive wizard. Legg was lucky to have had Cato's feet and a WR (Shuler) who knew just where to be because they had played a street ball passing game together for years. That is a combination that comes around once in a lifetime. None of our QBs appear to be the scrambling threat Cato was. That's going to be a huge issue in the offense until something changes.
