Looking like we will be in St. Pete vs. UConn

andy4 "teams we can beat every week?" Uh how about Ohio, MTSU, and WKU? We do not beat them every week. I agree with Marine. A bowl is a bowl and look how many there are now.

Our offense is so bad at this point, this will be a tight game. Litton needs to grow up and the OL needs to man up. Our WR's are pitiful at this point. Put Foster back at slot.

.............................

my post is not about opponents............. i have said that previously............... it is about THE MINDSET of some here that we should play an opponent we can beat........................

we screwed ourselves out of having a decent bowl game by losing 3 games with the 137th ranked schedule in the country. i have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS about whomever we play in a bowl game. we don't deserve much more than a 6-6 UConn with our resume. but to sit here and hope/wish/prefer to play them than Temple, Memphis, Navy, Toledo, Bowling Green, et all because WE MIGHT LOSE is mind boggling.................

Agree about the OLine and WRs. Litton would be 200% better if those two improve.

I think, as usual, some of our boards members are reading what they "want" to read...

Is anyone stoked that we are playing a 6-6 team from the AAC? -- No.
Is this our only option? -- Yes, we finished with 3 losses in CUSA.
Am I going to make the most of it? -- Yes.

If that somehow makes me less of a superfan, then I suppose I can live with that.

rah rah rah lets play Bama rah rah rah

Last year, we could have hung with anyone. This year we have a true freshman QB that is throwing to a bunch of WR that can't get open against anyone but Charlotte. We have had to go about 6 deep on the RB depth chart with an Oline the is either jumping offsides or getting injured on every play.

The benefit of this or any bowl is that the team gets 15 days of "extra" practice and one more game. This will be our third bowl game in three years and for next year's senior class that translates into 45 additional practice days, or, three additional spring ball sessions. This bowl is for the seniors, the fans, and for the underclassman it represents a chance to improve and set the stage for the future.

For Litton, what a great chance to continue to develop and learn to "throw what he sees" vs. thinking about what he sees.

*Go 9-3, get to a bowl game with 500,000 dollar payout, in our favorite recruiting ground*

OMG this sucks we can't play Temple or USF? What about Alabama? We can't get them either?

Accept who we're playing in a bowl game, find the upside in being in a bowl game every year. We have the chance to have three straight seasons with 10 wins. That's an accomplishment at whatever division you're playing in, I don't give a **** if it's the Sun Belt. It will give our team extra practice and our young QB extra experience, and a game on national TV. Stop complaining every chance you get, you big bunch of ****ing babies.

I doubt they'll be too active on this one; no appeal at all for 75% of their followers/supporters. Who can get to St. Pete at 11 AM the day after Christmas?

LOL, only a UCONN AAC team with almost no Div 1 history that is 6-6 would be less than thrilled with playing Marshall. Hilarious.

I say Chase and company bears down till game time, improves for the last game and next season and we beat their butts, and remain one of CF best bowl winnings teams!

LMAO, really 6-6 and you are unhappy with playing Marshall? Lol!!!!

Love some of their fans attitude; comments following:

"Even worse, playing Marshall. Is there a lower-rent program to play?"

"Eh, I have no worries with it. I'd rather play a kind of crappy team in Marshall and have a good shot at a win"

Northeast Snobs. It will be a great day if we can muster up a beat down. If by some chance we can run up the score....we should.

Lol their fans say the exact same thing we say about UCONN. Only way to shut em up is to beat em

Hey sunshine pumpers, no spin is possible, a bowl vs. UCONN has NO UPSIDE FOR OUR PROGRAM. We gain nothing from it. It would be the least meaningful bowl game we have ever had, and weakest bowl opponent.

Nah, I'd still vote for FIU in the Beef Bowl for that "honor". ;) Or maybe OU in the Pizza Bowl.
