You're a moron. Besides the economies between WV and these two other states being apples and oranges comparison, California as a whole has not always been a liberal Mecca in decades past.
Even with that said, outside of Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and parts of San Diego, the state is quite rural, poor, and fat.
Fat? Maybe it's just the circles I run in, but the only obese Californians I have met were Samoans. Lots of outdoors types.
