Looks like Rifle got fired...

Nobody wanted a picture of you. I am well aware of how you look, hence why I called you out for being dumb enough to try and critique my appearance when I know what you look like. There is a reason why you're stuck with what you have and why I get what I get.

some people actually enjoy the family life. you should try it. might bring you closer to resolving that angry streak @GreenDuke is always praying for you about.

Can any of you offer facts or decent, logical arguments to refute what I have posted? This is very basic stuff, guys. It takes very few minutes to read what I have posted, very few minutes to verify the things that I criticized the study for doing, and would take very few minutes to form a logical response.

Sometimes when a person is being an arrogant ass you step aside and let them do what they do best which is be an arrogant ass.

That is creepy.

We had political science classes together and he has posted his pictures on here over the years. Numerous times, a professor would be just about to dismiss the class, and jarhead would ask a random, unrelated, kiss-ass attempt question. It would end up making the entire class spend another ten minutes sitting there.

It was a running joke in many classes for my years at Marshall. Nobody could understand why he didn't catch on when everyone would moan, laugh, and/or roll their eyes when his hand would always go up right at the end of a class.

It isn't arrogance. I am not bringing up my education in this at all. I am using facts and logic to refute a poorly done "study." I am not the only who to call out the study after looking at it, as I have shown.

Why can none of you refute any of the things I have contested regarding the study?

Well, first were you in any branch of the military? If not you have no real true perspective. Working outside the base at the McDonalds is not a good perspective.

As far as a HS diploma making you smart or intellegent, I will give you that it does not necessarily give that, However those with a diploma are more educated than someone without one. I work with 5 guys who spent time in different branches all of them from one part or another of the special forces, of those 5 and the 3 others I know through them. All 8 were enlisted, 3 20+ years, 50% have college degrees (2 while still in the service, 2 after they got out), every one of them are fluent in at least 2 lauguages, 3 in 3 or more.1/2 of the management in the company I work for are veterans, more than 50% no college, midsized company total employees about 750, last year's revenue over 400M.

now maybe these people are the cream of the crop, but I doubt it. .

That has absolutely no relevance or influence when looking at facts. Christ, you guys make an easy, factual discussion so difficult on yourselves. Then, again, some of you are military, so it fits my statement.

It doesn't matter if I have ever been in the military or not. My statement was that the overwhelming number of U.S. military members are uneducated. The only thing that you can argue against, if you want to use facts instead of the logical fallacy known as "cherry picking" (which you just did), is that you disagree with my definition of "uneducated." My opinion is that "uneducated" in today's society are those without a bachelor's degree. If you agree with that, then you cannot factually argue against what I stated.

Nearly 80% of active duty military members do not have a bachelor's degree.

I emboldened that so you can see it easier. I've said it before, and I'll drill it into your head again: the overwhelming number of U.S. military members are uneducated. This fits my original statement about Trump supporters which started this discussion. You simply cannot argue against the fact. Now, if you want to argue that not having a bachelor's degree doesn't make a person uneducated, then we can have that discussion. But there is no arguing against what I have argued and the facts I have used to support it. There is no refuting what I posted about the comically bad study jarhead posted.

As far as a HS diploma making you smart or intellegent, I will give you that it does not necessarily give that, However those with a diploma are more educated than someone without one .

That's some deep shit right there. How long did it take you to come up with that? Here, I have a similar theory that I have been working on for years and finely figured out the answer to: "Those with a PhD are more educated than someone who is studying for their GED."

High school diploma or not, if that is the peak of your academic accomplishment, you are uneducated in today's society. That doesn't mean you are a moron, stupid, or unable to have a good life. It just means you are uneducated.

Not everybody needs a college degree and that doesn't mean they are uneducated or not smart. There are plenty of smart electricians, plumbers, carpenters, pipe fitters, welders, auto mechanics etc. They receive plenty of "schooling". Same with the military. Many have done very well for themselves.

rifle is just arrogant regarding this issue. College degrees don't necessarily make your smarter. Who is smarter and doing better? The snowflake that gets some useless degree and comes out in debt up their eyeballs or the guy that went and learned HVAC?

I entirely agree. I am a strong proponent of stopping how high schools try to push all students to college. Some students aren't cut out for it, some have brighter futures in other disciplines that don't require college, and some occupations (like you named) can lead to a very good living (especially if you own a small business in that field).

As I said, not having a degree doesn't make you a moron necessarily. I can elaborate on that if you want, but we both know our brightest students (or second tier brightest or third tier brightest) aren't usually picking the military. Most (not all, so read "most" as is written) of the military chose that because it was the best option for them; they didn't have what is needed to succeed in college, their lack of academic success resulted in no academic scholarships, their family didn't have the money for it - which studies have shown household income is a strong factor in academic success. But none of that changes what I have stated from the start: the overwhelming number of military members are uneducated. Trump had a disproportionate number of his supporters who were uneducated. That equates to the military liking Trump as you claimed. He has a disproportionate number of uneducated as his supporters, the military has an overwhelming number of uneducated among its members.

Most military supported Trump because they simply couldn't support Clinton. Hillary shit all over national security, basic Information Awareness, security of info and intel.,. It's not their level of education, it's their educated opinion.

Probably the snowflake. Will never have to really work and will have everything provided one way or another. Won't pay back the loans. Will never be responsible for much of anything. As long as their conscience can somehow work it out, the snowflake comes out way ahead.

You also need to look at what many of them do after the military. Out of the last platoon I was in, I can think of two guys that went on to be attorneys, one prosecuting attorney, one advanced science degree in the medical field, several successful business professionals. Others with college degrees. All enlisted guys who went on to do well. I am sure there were other stories but that is what I can think of off hand.

Ha! Sure it is! So, besides the fact that they are uneducated, it isn't their level of education you say, eh? Then, what about the disproportionate number of trump supporters who aren't military? Are they also secret-geniuses who were voting based on "their educated opinion?"

These educated military leaders supported trump due to his disparaging comments about the generals and his claim that he knew more about ISIS than the generals. Clown show.

thanks rifle i moved around and operated some of the most complex Drills in the world. Electric over hydraulics. Simply moving is hairy when you have a 40' mast. More controls than an airplane. During summer we would get college kids for summer help and they made some nice money. They would take one look at the conttrol panel and say "No way could I run that. Wiring up shots take skill. Knowing in what order a hole is blasted dictates which way a shot goes. Very dangerous. You learn on the fly . Myself i wanted to coach football but 3 days after i graduated i started in the mines with a fake birth certificate because i was 17. Had i not, I would not have got a job for 6 months. Worked 2 years and saved over 20,000 and married my sweat heart. Been married 36 years.Okay i had sex the other night. Looked at the clock it said 11:30. When i was done and i looked and it was 1130. Yep i know im good. Sad thing. True story

Every time I am around the modern day military I am amazed how smart those guys are now. Seriously. It is a new generation and mindset now. Technology driven, thinkers, and motivated.

I would not question their intelligence at all. I think rifle would be shocked at how smart they are. This country should be proud of them. The size of the military is smaller now and they do more with less people.

I can't believe someone would get on here and talk down to them. rifle must be the son of a 60's hippie or something. He has had this animosity on this forum before. I don't get it. Hell, I could go stand outside of Ft Bragg or Camp Lejeune and shake everyone of their hands and thank them.

The "I know more than Generals" line was stupid and got the groans and eyerolls it deserved. It certainly didn't go over anybody's head. Compare that to Hillary's actions and the assumption she'd continue with Obama's direction and policies and an ad libed statement doesn't even hit the radar.

Yeah, and I have seen a 2 year old operate an iPhone.

The same is true for garbage men. Instead of just hitting every house now and tossing bags in the compactor, they have a lot more thinking and technology for which they are responsible.

Due to many local regulations, they only hit one side of streets on certain days. They have to toss some bags in the back of the compactor, but with other bags, they toss them into the recycling area. Then, they also have to compartmentalize trimming of bushes/trees they pick up. The trucks are a lot more technology-driven that they need to know how to work.

Herdman, you aren't around the regular military members. You do with those with far more experience, and probably, education. The fact remains the same; the overwhelming majority of the military is uneducated. As a whole, the military isn't getting our brightest; in fact, they are getting those who are on the fringe of having a tough time finding how to contribute to society and make a living.

Nobody is talking down to them. It was a comment talking down about Trump supporters based off of your original claim. What the hell would I have animosity towards the military about? Everything I have said has been accurate.

Arrogance. Keep.digging.

Arrogance. Keep.digging.

You only think it is arrogance due to you taking offense to the fact I have presented. Who could have guessed that you had turned into such a giant vagina that simply stating the fact that the overwhelming majority of military members were uneducated would make you cry for days.

If you had beef stew or spaghetti you could make some dang good trades.

I swear I got Chicken Ala King 9 times out of 10.
