Mostly from democrats, but as usual, multiple problems with equipment, specifically tabulators. That's the small table top device that you slide your ballot into that reads the area you filled in when selecting your candidate.

Just my 2 cents, but seems like we could have a better way of doing this shit. Just setup a damn secure computer, and select your candidate with a simple push of your index finger. Pretty much everything else we do requires that shit. I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and a bottle of water at McDonalds after voting.

Just seems in our high-tech world, we could use computers to do all the damn work, and then know the winner by 10 tonight. Still too damn late for my normal bed-time, but it's better than waiting until next Monday or so to find out who won. Also, count those cheating mailed in ballots as they come in. I know there's assholes who will leak the results, but damn, waiting to count those until after the polls closes is why these damn things are a mess.

My prediction: You won't know who controls the senate until after the NCAA Conference championship games are played, and those are 4 weeks out.

Don’t most machines do both? I’m pretty sure ours records our vote digitally and has the paper ballot that is scanned as a hard copy back up

Yes, but the scanning machines always seem to F*** up. Just went to Fox News, and now they have a mess in Arizona, which comes as no surprise. Just thinking removing the step of the scan, and go direct. Also, old people like raoul and wv-fan have issues filling in the oval for whom they're voting for, and that leads to issues with missed scans. Probably shouldn't allow low IQ people to vote, but then we dumb redneck Republicans would really be in the hole.

Ours don't. They give you one of those damn things you bubble, like that state test you take in 6th grade. With a freakin' ink pen. Color in the bubble. You lay it on a plastic folding desk. Then you walk over and insert it into the machine that reads it.

They have the ink pen tied to the desk with a string.

This is 2022 and I am in a state with 10 million people. We vote like it is 1927.

There has to be cheating going on. Just read that tabulator machines out in Arizona are messing up or they are saying they are.

The same old damn places have the same old damn problems. They are probably stuffing ballots in Philadelphia right now. How many we need, boys? Give me 1200 more for Uncle Fester.

Reports up here are that Republicans are voting at a rate of 2 to 1, maybe even 3 to 1 pace as democrats.

I'm telling you this. Tudor Dixon should win this race tonight. Should have a substantial lead by the time I go to bed. Just have to worry about those Wayne County/Detroit City votes coming in on the backs of flat bed trucks again at 3:30 in the morning.

Biggest voter reform (in my opinion) is wait to count everybody else's votes, after the problem areas are 100% tabulated. Detroit votes are all counted, Philly votes are counted, Atlanta votes are counted. Then we can count the rest of the votes. No more of this stuff waiting to see how many magical votes Detroit has to come up with at 3:30.

Just wait. Ga will say Atlanta needs more time and perhaps Savannah. Hell, NC might get in on it and say those folks in Durham need more time to vote.

I remember when I posted from the voting booth one time and Raoul got mad at me.

Ha!aahaaaa

Ovals? Your dumb state uses bubble sheets?

States with both computers and scanners, like Indiana, are the way to go. There are two records, and one is on paper in case the computers fvck up.

Well it's fvcking illegal. If you did that shit in my precinct back when I worked the polls would have called the sheriff on you. Last thing I needed was some idiot saying someone was there filming. Especially today, Jesus Christ there would be a stink if someone saw that.

not surprised yore a "pole" worker.

Mail in ballots should really be done away with unless a valid concern is present (deployed military erc) with early voting really no excuse for lots of mail in ballots and they always take forever to count and could be easily filled out by someone other then recipient
Naw

I bet you know some of your local pole workers...and I bet on the way to the strip joint you see more trailers than you see teeth once you get there.
closest strip joint to my house is over an hour away and it has JMU students scripping their way through college. $20 cover but take yore own booze. i've only been to it a couple times, but that was 20+ years ago.

you go on bragging about how you love working those poles, blowhard.

That is insane, perhaps we need to open a business up there.

There's even a strip joint out in nowhere Kansas where we are looking to move to. I don't know the name of it, but the locals call that intersection "Titty Corner".

my drinkin' buddy's kid started frequenting that one after he turned 21. kid doesn't drink but drives over an hour to the place weekly. hell, from what i understand, all the scrippers know him on a first name basis. he thinks i'm a financial wizard and came to me for advice on buying the place and wanted me to go in partners with him. 🤣

I tend to agree but the inertia of them will be hard ?impossible? to stop. Dems will cry foul about it and will have every wing of the media at their backs.

The R's will have to find a way to ramp up their own ballot harvesting machine. The dems took the covid rules /pandemic and turned it into a monster of a machine for collecting ballots. It is going to be an enormous hurdle to get over.

I wasn't communicating with anyone or taking a photo. I posted live from the voting booth while proudly casting my vote for Donald J Trump in the primary.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

North Carolina law prohibits taking photographs of or videotaping voted ballots under N.C.G.S. § 163-166.3. Voters are allowed to have phones or electronic devices with them while voting as long as those devices are not used to photograph or videotape a ballot or communicate with anyone via voice, text, email, or any other method.

Photographing a marked ballot is illegal in part because such photographs could be used as proof of a vote for a candidate in a vote-buying scheme. Electronic communication while voting is prohibited because of limits on voter assistance and to prevent disruptions in the voting enclosure.

Voters may bring voting guides, notes, and other materials into the voting booth. They also may use electronic devices to access a slate card or candidate information, provided they don’t use the devices to communicate with anyone.

Yes, most people being able to vote easily and being against the GOP’s policies is quite the “hurdle.”

I may be wrong here, but I believe this level of mail in balloting is a significant outlier versus other western countries or even world wide. There are arguably good reasons for that both in terms of fraud prevention and in terms of societal benefits of those that commit to being educated on issues and putting in the time to go to the polls to vote.

Turning in a vote a month before the election (especially before a debate) is not a sign of a well educated voter, it's a sign of a tribal rubber stamper. Lots of stuff changes.

Like participating in a debate and coming across as having the IQ of a potato? Just an example off the top of my head . . .

Kentucky is the same and I definitely like the fact that there is a paper trail to backup the scanned and recorded vote.

We are also a photo ID state, but I have heard from several on this board that that is racist...

Stuffing oneself into a room and having to mark your ballot there doesn’t lend itself to educated voting decisions either. With vote from home I was able to check each candidate individually as I went through the ballot. And many offices in CA are non partisan, so you can’t just go straight D anyway.

It's good enough for red Utah, you know.

You were live on social media, where people can very well communicate back. I get live comments every time I go live.

And anyway, I am telling you that as someone that worked the polls in WV. Selfies, photos, video, etc. ANYWHERE in the polling place, not just the booth, are illegal in WV. So yes, I would have called the sheriff on you. I took that shit seriously. Electioneering? People would try to be slick and wear jackets over candidate shirts and open their jackets inside. WTF is wrong with people lol. Zip that shit up or leave and change and come back.

The hell do you think social media is? LOL.

"check each candidate" . . . code for are they blue? if so, are they gay? if so, vote; if not, do they support mutilating kids and exposing them to tranny sex and drag queens? if so, check; if not, no vote.

It at least needs to be limited to turning the ballot in within a few days of voting. We need a voting day (I would support it being a federal holidy), not voting season.

No early voting. No mail in ballots. A required ID and literacy test. If you want to be a responsible citizen of this country, get in line on Election Day, quit complaining, and prove that voting is worth as much time as applying for a fishing license.

Never will happen. The Democrats have too much power and too many leeches, derilicts, and tit suckers among their base.

Voter ID I want too.

The ?biggest? existential threat to this country is a huge chunk of either side not trusting the result of elections. There is too much potential for shadiness with all these mail in ballots coming in literally weeks before election day.

Honest question I need to research....do any other western countries like Canada or the EU do all this mail in balloting? I thought I read France for instance is really strict on same day paper ballots (?not sure about ID though?).

I've said it before, the only thing that's going to stop this is for Republicans to establish a system of ballot harvesting, buying people's ballots and filling them out, just like the Dems started doing in 2020.

Prior to 2020 Dems overwhelmingly rejected allowing mail-in voting and cited the potential for cheating as the exact reason to not do it. Even Chuck Schumer said it. But that was before they figured out a system to make this work to their advantage.

Due to the massive amount of fragmentation, it's almost impossible to prove that it's happening in a large scale, although we have and continue to gain more evidence through undercover investigations.

Totally agree.

Yet somehow Walker is going to a runoff.
I would put Walker up against Uncle Fester. Hell, walker won the debate with the "pastor".

At least Walker worked for a living. Uncle Fester lived in mommy's basement his whole life.
