This Thursday nite excellent chance to scout two future opponents on this year’s slate.
Coastal hosts Ga St. State is unbeaten at 3-0, and our road game with them is sandwiched in between NC St & our short turnaround Thurs nite game vs JMU.

Watched some of this on Saturday too... Here is my two cents...
South Alabama looks really good. Fast, athletic, excellent on defense. If you were making me pick a conference champion after 3 games, it would be them. They outclassed Oklahoma State on the road.
App State pretty much did to ECU what we did to them. The best part was ECU fans on their message board talking about coaches who may want to "move up" from the Sun Belt. No offense to the Pirates, but they'd be at best the fourth place team in the Sun Belt EAST this season (JMU, Marshall, App are all better and Coastal/Georgia State may be as well)
JMU just wins games... I didn't see anything with them that stood out as phenomenal. But they get the job done. Beat UVA by 1 and Troy by 2. That's a sign of being well coached and disciplined.
I haven't seen a single second of Georgia State or Coastal football all season, but I hope to watch them play each other this Thursday night... The knock on Georgia State is obvious. They have beaten an FCS team and two of the worst FBS teams in the country.

I've watched JMU twice now. They win for sure, but are a play away from losing the UVA and Troy games - missed FG's. We'll see what happens when they come to town.
Beating Appy in Boone won't be a walk in the park; they had a huge crowd for ECU. GA State may be our "easiest" road game, as going to Coastal, South Alabama, and Appy, plus OOC game with NC State, and win already at ECU, just might make this season's road schedule one of the toughest, top to bottom, in a while.
If anyone is interested. I will be looking to see if Ga St is for real, and how much a HC overhaul & portal effect has on chandeliers QB McCall……
I would agree. Coastal D is not very good & McCall looked off. GA State is solid.
Tim Beck will prove to be a terrible hire for Coastal.
The Sun Belt east is the SEC west of the G5. Hands down
Refs screwed that one up.. that kid got his helmet knocked off and they throw a flag… if anything should have been roughing the passer.. I wouldn’t be happy
You are correct. His helmet was certainly jarred loose by the tackler. He did finish taking it off all the way and then stood in a muscle pose to the fans after. I think that may have caused the flag to come out.
In no way, shape or form should that 2 point attempt have been successful! But, the wounded duck found its mark. Then, the UVA linebacker goes completely stooopid on State’s FG attempt, leaping over the line & drawing the auto unsportsmanlike flag, setting the ‘Pack up for the winning FG.
We can beat those guys!
VA, pretty much blew it, I felt like the ref shouldn’t have called the helmet off penalty… clearly jarred loose nearly off and then he slightly celebrated at his own sideline…
Yes, but the game is being played in Raleigh. Aren't we 2-0 in Raleigh? Oh wait.
