I know everyone is worked up on whether or not we're playing West Virginia in basketball next year, but can we talk about how good our boys are looking over the past couple games? Honestly, this is the first time I've seen a Marshall basketball team look like they're having fun playing for the first time since Herrion's first year.

I know the conference is weak blah blah blah, but I could see this team ending up with a winning record if they keep it up. Credit to DD for things looking up.

I agree, I really believe this is going to end well. I would have liked to see a lighter OOC this year but going forward we are going to do well IMO

Ever since our loss to james madison at home I saw something good with this team. I liked their energy andf quickness. Its all a matter of hitting shots. Very exciting games at the cam. Get you a seat near the floor and you will appreciate this team more.

they are looking great and proudly representing us old Herd fans.
It's a great feeeling.... Sky's the limit!!!
Sorry about typos. Too many pre-game Abominables!!!
Any ideas of TV for tonight?

Dandy Dan has this team "believing" in his system and they are having fun. Had the pleasure of watching The Herd dismantle Western Kentucky last Sunday in Huntington. A group of us (including several non-Marshall graduates) will be attending The HERD's game in Charlotte, Jan. 21. If my back surgery goes as expected (Jan. 28)....I plan to be at The CAM, Saturday, Jan. 30th [UAB] to help...BRING ON THE HERD." Dan's early OOC schedule is playing dividends as it prepared the team for C-USA play.

As his sister told me over the weekend, "Dan is living his dream"

It's nice to see Marshall basketball at least being competitive again.

I just wish there was a way we OOTers could watch them.

I'm happy for DD. Good man.
The games are on All Access and free internet sites. I know that one of the European kids said his parents watched every game on the internet.

Love the image that Dandy Dan projects at court side...speaks volumes for having a classy program...and exactly counter to the image of WVU's Tub of Goo waddling up and down the court

I agree, I think we may have one of the best players in the conference with Kelly. We have very little bench but 5 solid starters

I am still not a fan of over scheduling early in the season , and Dan was quoted in the paper as saying the same. The Tennessee game and one less JMU game I think could have helped this team that didn't have a point guard without Elmore. I think we set the team up for failure early, but they have rebounded and hope they make a run.

Correct. He has told us that is his philosophy to make them better. As he said, some coaches want to schedule easy wins to build confidence, he'd rather do it this way.
He told me he's not a 30 yr old coach building a resume with over 20 wins every year. He is where he wants to be. When he's done here, he will step aside and cheer for the person that takes his place. Don't expect the schedule to be any easier. He has said its not about regular season wins but to advance in the tournament.

I think in the long run it will make us a better basketball team down the stretch. It's obvious too that in the early part of the season DD wasn't as concerned with winning as he was figuring out this team. Lineups, how they flowed and how they responded to things. Everything about the first portion of the season was about improving to get this team ready to compete in conference play.

Also, this team is obviously not as talented or as good as some of the teams under Donnie and Herrion.. However, they play harder and more disciplined than any of those teams and get the benefit of playing in a vastly less talented CUSA than those teams. This season is as good of a shot as we've had in a LONG time to make it to the NCAA.. This team is good enough to get hot and win the conference tourney, and with no juggernaut like Memphis standing in the way that is a more feasible task than in any other year we've been in CUSA

Really a huge challenge to make The Big Dance being in a one-bid conference

Ho does one sign up for all access? Can I stream it via my iPad and can I then cast it to my big screen TV? Is the content and quality at least acceptable? Do they have ALL Marshall hoops games on? What else can I stream? Like do they shown women's sports too? Is is all one fee or like different tiers?

Thanks.

It is, but unless someone other than Memphis won the tourney we were mainly a one big league in the previous version of CUSA.. I think this year our chances of winning the tourney are better than they have ever been
