I don’t see us losing this bad, Marshall will come to play. 31-20 UGA
41-7 ugaI don’t see us losing this bad, Marshall will come to play. 31-20 UGA
So there’s a chance.
This is a tough game for many reasons, opponent, new staff, new team. Look competent, be competitive, come out of it healthy and move forward.
…..because in your jaded world, style points count for more than on field performance/results?Not sure how the team will respond to a head coach who has the enthusiasm of a Sloth on Valium.

If the kids need a rah rah speech from anyone to get excited about playing between the hedges, I'd question their desire to even play football. Maybe that crack MU marketing machine might convince a few fans to buy tickets. The amount of bad takes in a single sentence is quite abundant...amazing you're so good at something so terrible.
"Jaded worldview"? As in I lack optimism and am negative?
Well, I was the only one who didn't throw a hissy fit like the majority of you when MU lost to GA Southern...I actually remained optimistic and believed MU could win out.
Which they did...requiring you, and the majority of the board, to crawl back to MU fandom through the metaphorical doggy door.
Y'all are worse with your flip flopping of MU alliance/fandom than players in the portal and NIL.
We haven't seen Gibson as a HC, so your "on field results" comment is basically nonsensical and pointless.
But he has had several months to convince me, others, and even yourself to show up to games.
Using what? Oh, right, style points.
Style points selling a team to fans ABSOLUTELY count. You want someone to convince you MU is worth watching, as much as for a player, MU is worth playing for.
My God...marketing is literally the only thing that can recruit anyone anymore and here you are, making no sense.
It's literally what everyone wants the new AD to have, it's what Brad Smith already has...so the HC shouldn't or it doesn't matter?
If it was just winning, that CLEARLY didn't matter, ask WKU and MTSU why they, with all their CUSA titles across the board, are stuck in the mediocre CUSA.
Gibson literally has style points to focus on, getting a fan base largely distant from MU, to come back and buy tickets, merchandise, and cheer on the team is absolutely part of his job and going to be wherever he winds up.
On field results only start to count when the football is kicked for the first game.
Until then, convince people it's worth showing up and it's hard to be sold on getting season tickets with a guy sounding like this:

Stop worrying about it. None of us control how the players and coaching staff perform on game days. You just seem eager to grab as much bandwidth as possible with your gibberish. This isn’t a buffet! Show some self control.
Drawing from our poster emeritus, Sam C:Yes, because my pre-season concern is the only one.
You also may finally realize your tantrums on here after dropped passes or losses from games, won't control the team.
You're really progressing! 🙂
What an idiot you are. I played sports my entire life. I'd say, as many do, you're the clueless one. You really think none of the kids on our team aren't already looking forward to playing UGA on one of the biggest stages in college football? Or are you one of those still hanging on Huffs nut sack. What a damn ****ing moron you are. Clueless bastard. Get out of mommies basement and open your eyes.Tell us you haven't played a competitive sport, nor watched a competitive sports movie without telling us.
You're really reaching and it's sad.
Yeah. Not sure if he has mental issues, tries to play internet bad ass or just be cute; but whatever it is, he comes off as a jilted middle school girl. I should know better than to respond to his posts.I would guess that if one were to add up the # of times ‘04’s comments get a thumbs up (agreement) vs the laughing emoji (what an imbecile) ones ⚖️, the scales would explode downward on the latter’s scale.

Is your father perhaps a balding, former baseball player at Marshall? Asking for friends of Pullman. The amount of bad takes in a single sentence is quite abundant...amazing you're so good at something so terrible.

….I made zero claims about your actions. I made an assertion about your mental acumen, which I don’t need to prove; you’ve presented volumes of evidence! 😂
Is your father perhaps a balding, former baseball player at Marshall? Asking for friends of Pullman.
Once more, making assertions...and you know what they say about those! 🤣Just stop, ‘04. You’re embarrassing yourself even more than usual in this thread.
You are the one with the snarky, wise ass remarks. Grow up Junior. Everyone is tired of your shtickYou really think Huff just stood there in silence without any sort of motivational words before Notre Dame?
You also think he didn't say anything to his team after dropping one to GASouthern?
Good lord, you're really bad at applying common sense.
You think 18yr olds are going to balance being absolutely amped up and disciplined enough to not go overboard or make dumb mistakes for game like UGA?
I'm saying Gibson, so far to the populace, isn't really amping up excitement for MU football...and that's something that could trickle down into motivating the team to play.
People certainly build off the energy of their leaders, and Gibson doesn't have much energy.
Also, quit with the name calling.
I understand you're flustered.
I won't call you any names, it's understanding that makes it possible for someone like me to tolerate someone like you.
So do us all a favor and stop doing it.
You idiot! It’s ASSUMPTIONS. Because they tend to make an ASS outta YOU.Once more, making assertions...and you know what they say about those! 🤣

The actual quote,
“When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me.”
was best performed by Tony Randall as Felix Unger in an episode of the TV show The Odd Couple.
Felix dazzles

The game might or might not be a good judge of the 2025 Marshall football team. OSU beat 49-14 and OSU was ranked #3 at the time last year. Way too early prediction by ESPN has UGA ranked at #4. I don't like comparing scores, but this game might give us a realistic view of 2025 Herd. That said, the 2024 Marshall team was the SBC Champion. I wonder if the 2025 Herd can repeat as SBC Champions?

He does not need to be in this board to know what is being said! It is quite a demeaning comment. I do not post a great deal and more often than not I do so to support players that are being criticized. Our new coach has demonstrated a great deal of enthusiasm for this opportunity. We’ll see what that means in terms of his coaching ability. However, praise or criticism should result from performance, rather than a generalized opinion!Unless he's on this board, nope, it does not.
Lest we forget the comments about players and coaches when they lose a game or leave for a different school.
Wanting them to fail, hoping they regret their decision, saying how they weren't good to begin with, etc.

Having a hard time understanding your passionate dislike of folks that have criticized players or the team while you demean a coach that hasn’t coached one game. What is the difference?Problem is, "performance" from many on here is irrational.
Go read the comments from games, especially SBC ones...its laughable how bad the comments were to the team.
You expect a performance and if one thing doesn't go your way, you quit on the team, threaten to withdraw season tickets, and whine about "the good ole days" basically, a generalized opinion.
