This is a tough game for many reasons, opponent, new staff, new team. Look competent, be competitive, come out of it healthy and move forward.
Not sure how the team will respond to a head coach who has the enthusiasm of a Sloth on Valium.

The Herd was very, very good to me last year. They beat the spread in every game. Since they're an unknown product this year, I'll be staying far away.

Gibson literally has style points to focus on, getting a fan base largely distant from MU, to come back and buy tickets, merchandise, and cheer on the team is absolutely part of his job and going to be wherever he winds up.
On field results only start to count when the football is kicked for the first game.

If the kids need a rah rah speech from anyone to get excited about playing between the hedges, I'd question their desire to even play football. Maybe that crack MU marketing machine might convince a few fans to buy tickets.

The game might or might not be a good judge of the 2025 Marshall football team. OSU beat 49-14 and OSU was ranked #3 at the time last year. Way too early prediction by ESPN has UGA ranked at #4. I don't like comparing scores, but this game might give us a realistic view of 2025 Herd. That said, the 2024 Marshall team was the SBC Champion. I wonder if the 2025 Herd can repeat as SBC Champions?
I attended our 1st game there (2004?). That stadium is laid out east to west, and I got a top 5 all time sunburn! We played lights out defense, but couldn’t score points.

Sadly, at this point, nobody can really predict how the football seasons will go...
MU had a few calls go against them that would've put more points on the board. MU simply wouldn't have had the depth to keep pace for very long, but I think they played better than the scoreboard said.

He does not need to be in this board to know what is being said! It is quite a demeaning comment. I do not post a great deal and more often than not I do so to support players that are being criticized. Our new coach has demonstrated a great deal of enthusiasm for this opportunity. We’ll see what that means in terms of his coaching ability. However, praise or criticism should result from performance, rather than a generalized opinion!
Problem is, "performance" from many on here is irrational.
Go read the comments from games, especially SBC ones...its laughable how bad the comments were to the team.
You expect a performance and if one thing doesn't go your way, you quit on the team, threaten to withdraw season tickets, and whine about "the good ole days" basically, a generalized opinion.
Having a hard time understanding your passionate dislike of folks that have criticized players or the team while you demean a coach that hasn’t coached one game. What is the difference?
