Marshall 75 Sweatshirt?

Hey All,

Anyone know where I can buy one of the 75 Sweatshirts Doc and the staff have worn and were wearing at last weeks game? I also saw some fans in the stands wearing them. Its a nike sweatshirt that has a huge 75 on it with all the names of the victims inside the 75.

This has been covered numerous times but still think it’s a stupid and narrow minded policy from the AD.

When it comes to marketing and licensing, Marshall misses hugely.

In a year where revenue is limited that is one item that would have flown off the shelves.

I get that we don't want to turn the 75 and their memory into a circus event, and agree with that. But, people in this area are still very much a part of the story and want to feel they are paying tribute to the 75. Having these items available for purchase just one week a year would be a nice touch, allowing those who want to show their support by wearing these items, to do so in a respectful way. Marshall could even go so far as to create a scholarship from sales of these items to be given to a student from a family member of one of the victims, jmo.

We were at Glenns on Saturday morning before the game and they had printed a 50th anniversary shirt with the number 75 on it and an image of the fountain. They couldn't keep them on the shelves; those shirts were gobbled up in minutes. My wife got one. Now how is that type of garment any different than purchasing something with the number 75 on it and the old 71 logo?

There is a very simple way to do this and make everyone happy. Make the 75 merchandise available, but 100% of the proceeds go to scholarship(s) in the name of the 75. Have a small board that approves the merchandise so that it is respectful. Fans can show their respect, the merchandise is tasteful and Marshall students are the recipients of the proceeds, therefore nobody really profits (except students).
