The OBSESSION of the non-alumni hilljacks with Marshall really has no bounds.
Because at the end of the day, after yet another year where August's national championship turns into October's assreamings and then December's Motel 6 Bowl, these people are actually so stupid that, rather than begin to get a clue that the idiocy the lapdog media feeds them is just stupidity, all they have in their dark little lives is "But Marshall...".
Memo:
- You have the same relationship to WVU as you have to WV State, or Southern WV Community College. Same words as on you driver's license, no actual relationship.
- The manner in which WVU's non-alumni fans conduct themselves is very close to unique among colleges. The lowest of the low. A self-selected crowd of people who should not be allowed out of their hollers. Drunk, methed out, and basicaly just stupid.
- WVU's 65% out-of-state student body is there because WVU turned its back on WV decades ago and WASTES untolled millions of WV taxpayer $$ to half-way educate a bunch of C+ New Jersites for whom WVU was their safety school. The manner in which these people conduct themselves is not much different from the non-alumni fan base.
- You (sic) are never going to win any sports event that matters. You (sic) are a field filler in a Texas-Oklahoma conference and lucky to be that and very likely to be relegated to whatever is to come when that league colapses. Nobody who plays for your (sic) school is there for any reason other than his first 20 choices turned him down. Crapridi and Vingleberry and the rest know that and are laughing at you when you ACTUALLY BELIEVE the Spamspew they feed you.

You can say that again. Went to the first eerbilly v Marshall game back when Chad was QB, I was threatened ,I was openly cussed ,I had beer thrown on me, and all I did was walk into the stadium!!!!!

That is who they are. Remember this is a state of nearly 1.8M people. Of that 40K or so attend USPAM games. It is not a random sample. It is a self-selected group. Most WVians are way too smart to ACTUALLY BELIEVE the idiocy that is Spamiteism. So you get people who really should not be allowed out of their holler, and many of whom have rarely ever been out of their holler. They lack the capacity to conduct themselves as normal people do.
Then you have the 65% out-of-state student body. Again a self-selected group. Turned down by their own state's "big time football" colleges they take USPAM up on its, nearly unique offer of ultra-low out-of-state tuition, quasi "big time sports" and cupcake academics which frees up time for drinking. Racist Gee is pretty much the polar opposite of the late Dean Vernon Wormer. "Drunk,fat, and stupid, yes sir, that is our program." And the 35% from WV, who actually want to be around these people.
Both groups simply lack the ability to act like ordinary people.

Before calling out a longtime poster like Andy, I would suggest actually making some kind of meaningful contribution to the board.

Not matter how WVU fans want to spin the Attack on LSU. It cost your program a seat at the SEC tables. I think WVU would be perfect for the SEC but beating up fans from the conference you desperately want to join killed all of that. Now your program has to travel 1000+ miles to your closest conference opponent as punishment

So you're saying the reason WVU is not in the SEC and was later invited to the Big 12 was an incident between fans in September of 2011?
I don't think that's how conference expansion works.
No votes make it work. And in September 2011, the LSU game was billed as WVU presentation to the SEC. Leading up to the game, there was a ton of talk about WVU being selected to join the SEC. Then the attack happened and all that talk was killed.

Wrong. WVU was rejected by the SEC because a couple of its' fans got in a fight after a game per Fever.

Where do you come up with this stuff? The truth of the matter is that SEC schools favored WVU. Strong fan base, college town, academics mirrored other SEC schools and WVU had a strong tradition and had played many SEC schools in the past. The SEC schools favored the football product above all else.
However, the SEC's television partners wanted the Kansas City and St. Louis TV markets. At the end of the day, the TV partners got what they wanted.
I was there. I covered the discussions. Hate to debunk most of your fantasy but you did correctly point out the lack of TV market was a major reason WVU was not invited to join.
This is why I'm embarrassed for a couple people on here. Greenhouse, Herd Fever and Fake Sam just make up stuff and it makes them sound so GD stupid. I understand not like another team, and that's totally cool. But at least use facts for the love of God

And as to your academic idiocy, that is another thing I have yet to understand. 99.9% of Spamites, obviously including yourself, never attended ANY college. Yet you are fixated upon "your" (sic) school and its academics.
A big difference, BTW, from WVU's actual alumni, who know what they got from it, and how that contrasts to the great academic institutions of this nation. Arguing WVU academics is pretty much a 100% accurate test for non-alumni status.
Memo: WVU has essentially open admissions. ANY student who has any business in any college needs only to apply and he or she will be automatically accepted. That is not the way most states work. Lots of kids in lots of states grow up dreaming of attending state u and they just do not get to. Just are not smart enough. WV does not work that way. WVU is just another state college in a state with too many state colleges. It is what it is. That is reality.
In fact, it is close to unique among the so-called "Power 5".
Whatever the academic standing of whatever you consider the bottom school in the SEC, WVU is so far behind that as to be a speck.
Not that that should matter to you.
How can you claim to support Marshall & then claim to respect WVU? WTF? If you truly support MU you wouldn't respect a school that has gone out if it's way to bring down and stop the growth of MU.
