The line moved from 13.5 to 12 already. I see this as two things- One, south carolina is once again over rated, and thats an annual thing. I also think defensively Marshall is stronger than what people originally thought.

The line is all about bookies having gamblers placing money on a particular team.. if there is too much money on that team... the points either increase or decrease depending on where is action is. The objective of a bookie is to have an even amount of money on both teams so that they can make their vic...of 5 or 10%...

What the South Carolina game means is that many people put their money on Marshall the bookies wanted people to start putting some money on South Carolina to even out their risk..in reality a bookie is serving clearing house...the more action on a game evenly spread out the more money they make ...

Not every bettor that lays wagers are just trying to move the line. I get so tired of people thinking they are Vegas geniuses. I bet on games every week and I do pretty well. I follow the lines to see where the money is going on top of who I like. For instance, Kansas sucks and lost to an FCS school. Then they were 7 point dogs last week early, but Vegas lined moved to 5 so I jumped on Kansas because if a lot of money likes Kansas even though they suck then someone knows something. It wasn't trying to get the line back to Central Michigan, it was because they liked Kansas for whatever reason. BTW way Kansas covered the spread by about 30. By your logic people should just take whatever team the line is not moving towards, which is nonsense. I agree about one thing, the line moves based on where the money is placed. So in this case, the early bettors like the Herd, which is exactly my point.
